This is a sturdy backrest and rack, it's actually a bit heavy. There is no chance of it breaking or bending. I just installed it yesterday so I cannot speak to it's longevity. Two notes that keep it from being 5 stars. 1) It is necessary to pull the supports in to get the backrest to mount properly. Due to the fact that the bolts into the backrest seem to be just into the pad and not a sleeve, I have concerns about it pulling out over time....we will see. #2 and perhaps more frustrating than anything, the mounting bolts for the side brackets are too long. I needed to cut them down so as not to press into the rear fender of the bike. It would be easy to send along 1/2 inch shorter bolt and they would still be plenty long enough. Perhaps it is different for other years, but they are far too long for my 2015 Vulcan classic 900. Other than that I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend this piece. (Note: It will be helpful to you to have a second set of hands during installation - if only to keep from rubbing pieces against your fender.)

Looks good. Finish is better than expected for the price point. I went with this because the stock one was a little bit too forward for my wife and it had the luggage rack.This one gave her an extra 1.5 inches of seating room, which make a big difference on a ride. The instructions were a little bit confusing but I was able to work through it. The reason I gave it four stars and not five is because of the back pad mounting. Something better can be done done tabs and exposed screws I think.But overall it bolted on sturdy and doesn't move.
