The part seems to be of high quality. Installation was a 15 minute operation. Remove the plastic surrounding the latch (a rather large piece) by removing four retainer clips and CAREFULLY removing the lower rear hatch covering. Proper plastic trim removal tools would be best but a flat head screw driver works. Disconnect the electrical connections to the inside the hatch lights. Put the plastic trim piece aside.The three bolts (#10) holding the latch are then removed and gently pull the latch assembly out to reveal the electrical connection. Disconnect the electrical connection. The old latch will be free. Reverse the steps to install the new part and replace the electrical connections to the inside hatch lights and push the trim back in place. PS, you can test latch operation before reinstalling the trim. Considering the price of genuine Nissan parts. . . well this was a deal. Time will tell if the part lasts as long as the OEM.

I bought this a month ago put it in my 2005 Nissan Murano. It worked great for 1 month than I got a warning light for rear lift gate is open. Now it doesn’t close. This is the second time it’s happened. The first time the rear lifegate lock stopped working was 2 months ago. Someone told me I had to get the part from a dealer. It cost me 238 dollars. What a ripoff. It only lasted 2 months. I saw the same part on Amazon for 30 dollars. It was the exact same part. Yet it only lasted a month
