It's a nice unit, but supplied with wrong size Allen key, so cold shoe attachment cannot be removed from the cheese plate unless one supplies the correct size to accomplish this.

This camera plate is fine -- and I'll be keeping it. But the screws it comes with have two big problems: they're *slightly* too long for mounting to my Nikon D810; plus, the allen wrench provided in the kit is slightly too small, so it strips out when you try and torque them down.Anyone buying a plate like this is likely to need a strong, secure connection. The two problems are both significant issues for anyone wanting to feel confident about their rig.

Flexible mounting adapter with just the right mix of ¼-20, ⅜-16, M3 and M4 holes, counterbored slots, and a captive ¼-20 screw for my rig. Best features are the three ¼-20 holes on the short edge.

This is my best cheese plate. I now own three. Superb design. The most useful out of the eight various cheese plates I own.

Using this between a Smallrig halfcage and a Ronin S plate. LOVE it! Was able to1 - center up the Ronin plate so when I take the camera off, it sits level on a table/floor etc.2 - attach my Tilta follow focus rod to the front which also helped even out the weight on my gimbal setup.3 - screw down my loose Nikon to MFT adapter.

This is a multi function, true HD CageRig, Universal cheese plate. However it is an A+ offering for a bolt on top/side mount super duty traditional top, bottom, front , back 1/4/20, switchover top / bottom QR style 3 slot 1/4/20 + 3/8ths hole Plate. What I mean by switchover is simply this, there are cage rigs, HD cage rigs, and then High End Prof Industry style cage plates. Red, Arri, Etc are built to have HD plates bolted onto them, they don’t need traditional protection like an HDSLR, and up to 4-5$K rigs. That being so there’s an slight oddity in rigs not made for really high end equip, the top hole placement falls a tiny bit off from most mini rig accessories. IE:, you can buy a cold shoe handle, all metal HD, T screw down for under $30, or others are 3 to 5 times that, and the difference (Really, like really really), is 4 M5’s holding it together and the 2 holes to attach it to a rig are oddly off by a MM, to fit the center of a high end cage. Seemingly making no sense, it’s in fact by design, both sides of the equation, try to confine you to their standard and their products,( even if 4 other co’s make handle that fit). Ultimately it’s like nearly everything else in our business, tripods etc especially, and THIS PLATE, bridges the gap, having screw hole spaced every 4mm or so, so every attachment can fit. The fact it’s not $120, which was easily a price for other nearly identical plates, of certain manufacturers.I’ve long advocated that spending outrageous $, on these things, while quality is needed, there’s a way to avoid paying insane, (seemingly insane- if I’m hanging the handle off a plate, attached to my RED Monstro, yeah I think hard about that beast being torqued and breaking an average screw- who wouldn’t at $40K, and that’s where price being, High* is relative. It’s unusual to spend upwards of 50K with accessories, and have no budget for the best screw on’s). But there’s a difference between spending DIY’ money + get cheap crap, and the point where 7-8 needed add ons, cost a total of $150-200$, vs $2500, maybe I am cheap, idk. Personally I throw out every bolt I get, I use bulk bought 1/4/20 & 3/8 super duty, forged steel real bolts. I can even imagine using thumb screw tight bolt to attach anything, and All i’ll Add is this is as good a plate as you’ll find, if the price point fits your fancy, buy it. If it’s 2-3$ more than another one, BUY THIS ONE, it’s worth it.The include cold shoe is a full screw on, with a recessed 1/4/20, and 2 m5’s front/back, for attaching whatever. ** that again is that high difference, back up screw to prevent twisting. Little things, but if that’s an Atomos $800 recorder, wow, that might make sense! A+

I use this cheese plate to support items I'm shooting in my light box. I love the size and different screw sizes. The slots are great for mounting different stand-offs to the plate for supporting medium sized items.
