About this item: With narrowed eyes and proud features, this handsome visage demonstrates an attitude of strength. Godfred France creates the African mask in an original design he names Kerfi, "Strength" in the Hausa language. Applications of white clay give it a vintage look.

About our Artist: As a child, Godfred France used to make boats with worn-out metal utensils, which he'd float in water. 'Due to financial constraints, my parents could not further my education and so I had to drop out of school and join my uncle, who was a wood carver. Thanks to the woodcarving, I've been able to educate my four children and I know that with constant sales, I'll be able to give them a brighter future than I had. This motivates me to wake up each day to carve!'

very surprised with the quality of this mask. it will need to be wiped down as it had some kind of dust from shipping or protective stuff. it is well made. is a great addition to my Africa room. love it.

Although I have not hung these on my walls yet (still decorating) they are very unique and everyone asks where I got them. They go very well with the African-inspired pillow cases.
