Hibiscus wood exhibits colors ranging from white to light gray, dark gray or even black heartwood. This natural occurrence can rarely be replicated, making each carving exceptionally unique. About our Artist: Bali's Made Tresna says, 'I grew up in an artistic environment where I was in touch with many artists and artisans every day. For as long as I can remember, I've always been fascinated with woodcarving, an art form I have been practicing since childhood. My father taught me, and he is one of senior carvers in my village. Searching for something new and different to carve, I realized I enjoyed carving masks in a more contemporary style.'

I have wanted a Balinese mask ever since I saw the National Geographic documentary, Bali: Masterpiece of the Gods. I never dreamt I would find one at such affordable prices. I now have four masks by Made Tresna displayed on my wall and I am extremely happy with them. My favorites are "Mother Love" and "Love's Power". I highly recommend this artist's work.
