This is an attractive small shade. It's made of a neutral color linen and is sturdy. The hole provided to attach the shade to a lamp is too large for a standard American socket. I may be able to use it with the ring sitting on top of the light bulb, but that's not attached to the lamp and would only work with a table lamp that stands straight.

I’ve been trying to get a tall skinny shade for this lamp in my kitchen where the bulb shows over the top. This shade arrived and I was so excited because it’s beautiful quality and just the right neutral linen color. However, the ring on the spider was too big for the diameter of the shade/lamp junction. I remedied that by placing one of the those black screw-on rings in between the bulb base and the lampshade ring. It allows the shade to rest on the ring. It fixes my issue of seeing the bulb over the top of the shade, but it’s precariously placed right now. I will see if there’s a crafty way to secure it.I’m having a hard time figuring out what specs to look for in lamps. Since this said it’s for both hanging and table lamps I assumed it might work. I wish there was a way to know more about the way it attaches or sits on the the fixture.All fit issues aside, the shade itself is very nicely made and in a hard-to-find size that is very tall in relation to its width. I can’t fit a ruler in there to measure the hole size. I took pictures with the bulb bright and then dimmer to show how the linen color looks. It’s well made and sturdy with an inner construction that is rigid and does not crinkle or bend. I love it! This solved my problem of how to fit a shade in a tight corner of a windowsill as in the photos. Shades are expensive, so I can’t say I love the price, but it is the going rate for shades.
