1. Very sharp2. Smaller than my regular sprue cutter, so can get in really close.3. But it's small, so may no replace your regular sprue cutter for bigger cuts.Overall, a very fine piece of eq

I like the single blade for cutting plastic resin and I even use it to cut small wood pieces for models. Got it on sale so it works well for the money. Good size and seems to hold its cutting point.

Maybe I'm being unfair here. When I ordered these, I was remembering my days with plastic models, and I wanted to extend that need for precision to my more recent hobbies.Man, I put together a lot of models back in the day. And when I tore open that box from Revell, I just wanted to be finished. Shaving or sanding the nubbins off the parts was torture, and I ruined more than one endeavor by rushing it. I was much more about the product than the process. Wow, what a great pair of nippers would have done for me back then.A decade or four later, the process is really the only thing that matters, and quality tools are paramount. So I saw these nippers and thought they would fill a void in my toolbox. While they were sitting on my desk awaiting my writing of this review, I needed to cut a guitar string and there they were. They succeeded, but there is a visible notch in one of the blades. When I squeeze the handles together, they stop when the blades meet. But if I squeeze a little harder, with a click the blades will push past each other. This just tells me that the engineering of these snips is a little shabby. If you've read this far and are wondering how I gave this tool three stars, I'll just say that maybe my expectations weren't fair. They're handy little nippers and maybe for their specified task they are plenty good enough.

These nippers are… close! But they are great for the price and a great alternative to godhands. The blades appear to be a little bit thinner but so far they cut like a fresh set of godhands. The only thing I can’t tell you is durability. I just got these and started using them right away on my Meng models evangelion prototype oo. They do come with the leather cover sleeve and a clear rubber/vinyl tip protector.

I wouldn't say I'm a high level model / miniature builder and painter by any means, but there is nothing worse than going to separate a piece from the sprue and marring it by mistake because you're using ultra-cheap Harbor Freight flush cutters. Ask me how I know. These are really, really nice. When you're generally familiar with hand tools, you get a feel for when something is high quality, with that extra nice finish that only comes from premium tools. These cutters appear to have very tight tolerances in the rotating joints, the cutting surfaces match up positively, and it came pre-lubricated from the factory. The entire arc of movement feels very consistent and smooth. The tension spring underneath is even heat-blued, for crying out loud. That's pretty crazy, and all adds up to more quality than you usually find in a tool.My initial tests have been really clean, allowing for a nice level of precision and saving me time on subsequent cleanup work. I look forward to using these for kit-bashing and modifying miniatures, as I think they'll save me a lot of headache, although the instructions are pretty clear that they should not be used for that purpose. I'll proceed with caution though. There is no question that these are really nice. I'd be remiss if I didn't put that into the context of value - they also aren't cheap. In my mind, they're still a good value. My approach is to go cheap on everything at first, then upgrade the stuff that will make the biggest difference. As I've learned, especially with miniatures, small flaws can be highly visible. I imagine if someone goes looking for a use specific tool like these, they have probably noticed a gap in their game that can only be addressed by taking the next step up the chain. If that's you, I'd heartily recommend these cutters.

This cutter is low profile and VERY SHARP! Will make an excellent cutter for trimming soldered component wire stubs off. The back of circuit boards and clipping zip-ties so close there's not sharp edge to worry about, but - and I know, kind gross - they've already proven to be the best toenail cutters I've ever had, and that alone make them worth far more than I paid for them! Just don't attempt to cut anything besides small diameter copper wire, string, soft plastic (lie the previously mentioned zip-ties) and, um, finger or toenails! If you cut even a small diameter tin or metal wire you'll end up with a set of wire strippers instead of cutters! Keep 'em away from the kids! Oh, and the spring that forces them open as the default position is the best! Good stuff.
