When I’ve needed to use a straight edge for cuts or my router I’ve typically just clamped a board down. But this has a couple disadvantages. First, it takes extra setup time to position the clamps and they can often get in the way. Second, it can be hard to find a board the length I need with a smooth straight edge. This tool solves both of those issues. This straight edge clamp is very quick and easy to clamp into place and with this design, the clamp is underneath and out of the way. The design of the clamp also helps to line up the straight edge straight. With the clamp engaged, I was amazed with what a solid hold it had on the workpiece - not any play at all!I also really like that this clamp comes with an extension. The 50” length should cover most applications, but with the extension you can do up to 100,” which would be a big help in certain situations, like ripping down a 4x8 sheet of plywood. The extension was easy to install and there wasn’t any play along the entire 100” length of the clamp. I would’ve preferred that the clamp was metal, not plastic, but it does seem to be pretty heavy duty.As far as storing the tool, the clamp has a hole on the end where you can hang it up - which allows for convenient storage and easy access. I wish they would’ve done the same thing with the extension, but sadly they didn’t.Another complaint I had was that this clamp uses 3 different kinds of screws - hex screws, a very small Philips screw and a large Philips screw. Not a huge deal, but it’d make things a little easier if they could consolidate that. The clamp also looks nice! I like the orange color and the O’Skool logo. And it just looks like a quality tool. Overall, I think this product will be a great addition to my shop!

Anyone who needs to break down sheet goods (and doesn't have a panel saw) really should invest in one of these. I am very fortunate to have a well equipped woodshop with a big cabinet saw with a sliding table and, for 3/4" ply or any MDF, I still favor breaking down the sheets with a circular saw and straight edge. Those sheets are heavy and cumbersome, to say the least. And, particularly with powerful equipment, any mistake can quickly become catastrophic and dangerous. I mitigate that risk by using a couple saw horses, a sheet of foam insulation (under the cut piece), a straight edge, and a Skillsaw.I have used straight edge from a bunch of different manufacturers. The first one I made from scraps and, though it worked ok, keeping the clamps out of the way was always a challenge. Then, I bought one from Harbor Freight. It was absolute junk and never market worked at all. Later, I got a Husky and another brand I do not recall. They are pretty good, but weren't quite long enough. However, with this one, now I have a variety of lengths available. What I like: The aluminum extrusions straddle the line between weight and strength. With something this long? I wouldn't want to have any other material. (Maybe titanium?!) The anodizing is nice, though I expect it will get scratched up pretty quickly in normal use. Assembly was quick and easy. It would have been nice if all of the fasteners had the same type of drive. (Some are hex and some are Phillips.) The kit came with multiple end caps for some reason. I personally don't see the need for that because they need to be unscrewed to insert the extension anyway, so one would do the job just fine. I'm sure I'll end up losing one of them soon enough anyway. The straight edge adjusts easily and clamps very securely onto a mostly square edge. What could be better: A feature which I prefer on one of my other guides is that it has a clamp that rotates in the horizontal plane. This product requires that you twist the cam in the vertical plane, which I find a little bit more difficult since it necessitates having a shorter lever arm. Another nice feature would be to have either a tool-less method of connection, or some way of affixing the Allen wrench to the guide. (I already tossed the included tool since I cannot stand cheap Allen wrenches!) This is less of a problem for me since this will probably never be disassembled once it is in my woodshop.Bottom line: Even with a couple of minor gripes, I think this is a very nice tool and a good value. I am looking forward to using it. Stay safe out there!

Item arrived promptly and had been well packed for shipment. One minute setup time. Worked perfectly to cleanly cut full length of 8' plywood. Clamping force more than adequate to securely lock guide.
