Trying to open up an existing hole? This works brilliantly so long as you have the clearance, enlarge the hole right up to 63mm!Forget hole saws, this replaces it for almost any cable gland.

Works great on sheet metal and punch out holes. About the same quality as average hardware store HSS bits but in large size.

I've only done two wheels with cutting oil so far, it takes a while but works and still appears to be sharp, having to go through a good 3/8 inch of material. No problems with heat as the wheels were acting as a big heatsink, was able to touch the bit still after using it for a couple minutes just had to give my drill a rest pretty often as it's not a great one, and the bit is huge, though the shank did fit in a standard chuck. Overall pleased with my purchase, as it made some wheels I had useful to me again.

I found this to cut through metal well. Used this on brass and aluminum. If you use this on aluminum, speed control and lubrication is important. It tends to chatter if you go too fast and hard but lubrication makes cutting easy. Good quality.

It's a monster bit, did what I needed thru aluminum but is a bit cumbersome in small spaces and with a cordless drill

This product does NOT work as described due to 2 major design flaws:(1) the material used is not hard enough and sharp enough to cleanly cut common metals, and(2) the steps are too large.Where other similar bits increase the step by a single millimeter (1mm, or 1/16th of an inch), here it jumps by 5mm per step. As a result you can get a fairly clean hole up to 20mm (roughly 3/4") in dia. IF used on sheet metal (mild steel or aluminum) that's the practical max for this tool. Beyond that you enter the realm of bent, ripped and overall messed up parts. Results are NOT pretty.

What more can I say - it seems relatively durable and it cuts well.

For the price this is a nice bit ...First thoughts right out of the shipping package... it's a huge step bit ...the sides that expand the holes seem sharp and well machinedIt has a non slip 3 flats shank for the drill end that is approximately 7/16" nice size for strength in a 1/2" inch drillAfter I use this I'll update the review

Hey a really great tool for making a hole bigger. I had some gunnel rod holders that I wanted to use to hold a boat pole, but the hole wasn't big enough for the handle. This was just the tool. Plenty sharp to cut through the plastic. I'll be glad to have this in the drill box for those times when I have to make a hole bigger...
