I bought two gaskets for my 1975 Jeep CJ-5 - one for the Dana 30 front and one for the Dana 44 rear. Both were Omix-Ada gaskets. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because when I hover over the 5 stars for this review a little pop-up dialogue box shows "I love it". Hey, these are gaskets, not my Jeep or my F150 or... uh... my wife and kids... so yeah. However, I suppose if I were capable of gasket love these would be strong contenders. Perhaps you are noodling over buying these because you've heard dicey things about that Omix-Ada company. You'll find all sorts of horror stories on Jeep forums about quality issues. So I paused before I hit the buy button on these two gaskets. But I had purchased an Omix-Ada fan shroud before and was quite pleased with it. I'm happy to report that these gaskets fit perfectly and were cut nicely. All contact surfaces had enough material to avoid leaks and the diff cover bolts went right in without having to monkey about because holes were right on-center.Thinking about using RTV instead of gaskets? Forget it. Your father did not raise a lazy bum. He just wasn't that kind of man. RTV is the devil's business. I had to clean up the yahoo's (not the search engine) work who put on my covers before me using that mess. It took a pneumatic die grinder with a red scuff pad attachment and a lot of time to get both mating surfaces very clean. Get those surfaces clean for these gaskets and the next time you have to change out the gear lube the job will be easy peasy. I did my job 3 weeks ago. They haven't leaked a drop. Even did some dirt work at Hollister Hills SVRA since then. All is well with these parts.Buy these inexpensive gaskets. Do work. Thank your father for not raising a bum. Thank me for reminding you to do that. Thank you for reading this far.
