One of the wheel sockets has a tilt, not allowing one wheel to be slightly off the floor and a slanted. I did not return it. I am just using it as is.

I splurged on a $1500 office chair that reclines and even has an extendable foot rest. I work from home full-time permenantly and got tired of cheap $80 Amazon chairs. But when the gas cylinder failed I realized the manufacturer for some odd reasons designed it such that you can't remove the gas cylinder. Almost as if they soldered it together. Not sure if soldered is the right word but you get the idea.Because it had a heavy duty silver metal base I found this base on Amazon and it exceeded my expectations. Heavy duty and silver to match my office decor. It almost looks like my original base. The only difference is it sits higher than my original. No big deal still a great buy.

You need to insert each leg into the base and bolt in with the supplied hardware. No big deal. Works gret for my Effydesk Aerochair.

the legs angle down, so the hub is 4-3/4" higher than with most one-piece chair bases. If this were a one-piece base, angling the legs like this would more-than-double the size of the shipping box. So if you need a higher base because you're tall, a bolt-the-legs-to-the-hub base like this one is probably the way to go.And this unit seems particularly sturdy; the welds on the hub were perfect and the leg-to-hub fit was absolutely tight.I like it.,

Replaced the original base on a Steelcase Leap v2 which uses the top down cylinder. While it sticks out a bit further on the bottom than the stock base, as long as you have 3" wheels you're good to go. Putting this together was easy and obvious enough to not need instructions, and the only difficult part was getting original base off so I recommend checking YouTube for instructions for your specific chair.A couple tiny dents between the five legs, but not even noticeable once everything is assembled and being used. Feels super sturdy and looks amazing, especially with gold roller blade style wheels! Definitely a fun upgrade and worthwhile if aesthetic upgrades make your work day a bit brighter. 😊
