I've had my share of Apple CarPlay wireless adapters. 7 (seven) total, since 2022.In 2022, for my Kia Telluride, I started with a $150 adapter. It was about as bad as you could get. Latency issues. You had to unplug and plug back in, several times a day. Fast forward, I've seen so much improvement in the past year.Price points are at $69, for no latency, and almost perfection. Occasionally there would be a handshake issue, but rare.Fast forward to this unit. Retails for $150. Is it worth it? Well, in short. No. This has some latency issues and connection issues. Not sure if it's the chip or the board, but unclear how competitors are putting out near perfection for $70. Perhaps it's picking the right factory in China?⭐️1 star — I don't endorse this at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars — I don't endorse it: has multiple faults, or significantly overpriced.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars — It's passable: it has some faults, some compromises, but the quality is acceptable for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars — Product quite acceptable, and it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars — Product that I totally endorse. Blown away. Drop everything and buy it!

It's not perfect, but this is the best Android Auto wireless adapter that I've used so far! I really like that the included cord is long enough to put somewhere in my truck area. There are some times where the audio cuts out for just a split second. Then it comes back. But it does seem to be compatible with my 2021 Toyota Tacoma and my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. It was also working okay with my previous phone, a One Plus 8T.Connection with a single phone is OK. I was able to perform installation fairly easily and use it with my phone for many trips. Android Auto was responsive to touch and voice worked well enough. What is the expected behavior when my wife and I both have phones in the car and we want to switch the android Auto to get phone? I haven't quite figured it out yet.I saw another reviewer mentioned firmware upgrades so I wanted to investigate that. I was able to go through the Otto Pilot app and try to check for firmware updates. I had to plug the Otto Adapter MX into a power-only USB port, to that it wouldn't keep trying to do android auto. Then I had to disable Bluetooth on my phone. Then I had to disable my VPN on my phone. Then I was able to check for firmware updates, and it finally seemed to work. There is significant audio delay, so don't really expect it to be great for watching videos and having the car audio play for the video. It's like a full second but it could just be the Bluetooth in my Tacoma. I don't mind the delay because I'm just trying to use it to listen to podcast style videos on my phone. And for that, it works fairly well.I have had one other previous adapter like this, and it was a bad experience. This Otto Cast adapter seems to be more stable, even if it is not always perfect. The price if these adapters can be very expensive, but at least with this one, there does seem to be a way to work with the developers if you have problems.

This adapter connects to my phone right away and doesn’t have any lags or glitches. I can also watch videos on my vehicle screen if I use the screen mirror option but then I have to disable to CarPlay option. Long road trips I can play a movie on my screen for entertainment for the family or play some YouTube videos. 100% has made life better.

This adapter has worked really well for me. Set up was a breeze. I'm able to stream on my car screen for my kids which has been so nice. The adapter isn't very big, so it doesn't take up much space. I haven't had any issues with connection dropping. I've had several adapters by this brand and have been highly satisfied with all of them.

I've not had any of the issues other reviewers have said about connectivity being spotty. Everything has been fine for me. The unit is easy to set up, and the signal is pretty good.

Device was not worth the money. I expected it to work smoothly and flawlessly for what I paid for. Calls did come in with a little more clarity. But the video and sound quality was not up to par.

I'm disappointed to share my frustrating experience with the OTTOCAST MX Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter. As a tech enthusiast, I was excited to upgrade my driving experience with this promising device. Unfortunately, it failed to deliver on its promises. From the start, I encountered laggy performance and frequent disconnections. The adapter's plug-and-play setup was supposed to be effortless, but I found myself spending hours troubleshooting and restarting the device. The Auto Reconnect feature, which was supposed to provide seamless connectivity, rarely worked as advertised. I was also underwhelmed by the device's stability and user-friendly operation. The Smart Button, which was supposed to allow for easy switching between CarPlay, Android Auto, and AirPlay, often got stuck or unresponsive. The online upgrades, which were supposed to enhance the device's performance, seemed to make things worse. To make matters worse, I encountered compatibility issues with my phone and car's infotainment system. Despite checking the compatibility guidelines, I still experienced glitches and errors that made the device unusable. Overall, I'm thoroughly disappointed with the OTTOCAST MX Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter. Its poor performance, laggy interface, and compatibility issues make it a hard sell for anyone looking for a reliable and seamless driving experience, 2 Stars.
