Bought as a replacement for my MBP A1398, it's a perfect fit, was easy to install & works perfectly. All keys light up, maybe not as bright as OEM (very close though) but I've never need to put my backlight at full brightness.

This is a great keyboard. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to install it and, while it was a daunting task to replace a 2013 Mabook Pro keyboard, due to the way the computer is designed, and absolutely no fault of the replacement keyboard, once installed it brought my Macbook back to life. While I was doing the keyboard replacement also replaced the battery...just make sure you purchase the battery with the correct connector. I've been using the Macbook, with the keyboard and battery replaced, for a couple of months now and love it again!

It works ok. I no longer use the laptop i installed this keyboard on as my primary so the issues don't bother me so much. If the Caps Lock light or the backlight is important to you this might not be for you. The backlight is dim, not unusable but dim. Overall if feels and works fine enough.

It is as difficult to install as most everyone says but between iFixit and a U-Tube video I succeeded in installing it. Only glitch was the caps lock light doesn't come on. It could have been my installation and I'm not worried about it. The laptop had several dead keys and replacing the original keyboard with this one restored it's usefulness (also replacing the battery helped)..

The project of replacing the keyboard is not for the faint of heart, and like others the removal of the old keyboard left most of the plastic rivets in place so I could not screw in the new one. I glued the new one in place, and it works fine. The plug for the keyboard is finicky, and doesn't want to stay in straight. Mine came loose after a couple months of use and most of the keys stopped responding (not all of them) and I thought the keyboard had failed. I whined to the seller that I didn't want to spend several hours again replacing the keyboard, but this seller took the time to explain that I should double-check the connection before ordering a new one. Recommended, if you have the courage!

First, I'm very happy with this replacement. My original keyboard starting flaking out and the middle row of keys would randomly stop working. This replacement feels near factory and looks near factory. I wouldn't know it was replaced if I had just picked this laptop up used. Backlight and capslock light work as expected.Replacing the keyboard is... not fun. There are some good videos out there on how to do it, watch them. You have to dismantle pretty much the entire laptop. Note where the screws go, as they're different lengths. You can find some sites that detail which length screw goes where. Take your time. If you're battery is fading, now is a good time to replace it.You have to literally rip the old keyboard out, it's riveted down with ~ 100 little rivets. They'll go everywhere. Sometimes they all pop out from what I've seen/read, in my case most of them did NOT. Use flush cut wire cutters to pry/pull out remaining rivets. This takes a certain touch to do without cutting the rivet off in the case, then you have a real problem. Screwing the replacement down is not bad, just tedious. Use some common sense in regards to torque, you don't want to strip these tiny screws out, and it is just aluminum you're threading in to. I'd suggest starting a few screws loosely around the perimeter and then work from the inside out to the edges. I skipped and did every other at first and then went back and filled in the rest.MAKE SURE this is seated all the way around properly before putting it all back together. I had one spot under the space bar where the plastic sheet didn't seat down all the way and buckled up a bit, but I didn't notice until everything was reassembled and I hit the space bar. Fortunately I was able to correct this without having to take it all apart again. The keyboard connection to the system board is VERY particular/finicky. When I first put it together, everything seemed to work, except the left command key wouldn't work in combination with certain keys. It worked on it's own, or with specific keys, but not all (like cmd+c). However the right command key worked as expected. I thought it was a keyboard defect at first. I ended up fiddling with the connection to the system board a bit and got all keys working as expected. The battery life gauge/meter/whatever was kinda wonky after this. Not due to the keyboard, just from having taken everything apart. I went through a few calibration cycles (drain/recharge) and it is getting back to normal. My only real gripe is that there were three or four spots where the original keyboard had rivets, but the replacement keyboard didn't have a spot to screw it down. Not a big deal, I don't notice it at all, and I've used it near daily since it was new.

I have noticed that the size was not quite right when I pulled out my old keyboard, but the keys fit just okay. However, the screws were on the way of the new keyboard, and I had no choice but to adjust them. But I ran into a problem the moment I placed the backlight. It was much bigger than the original one. Not only I was not able to place it, the sides of the backlight were touching the sides of the keyboard walls inside of the laptop.

I am not sure if I am the only one with the issue but the new keyboard, on top of how difficult it is to install, the lack of quality of it vs the original is quite obvious. The key float height is uneven meaning that you will notice some of the keys' start position will be higher than other keys and some keys will float uneven in regards to their sides. See pictures. This keyboard requires over 70 tiny screws to be installed in order to obtain the MacBook's sturdiness intact. Despite this, some keys feel tighter and others feel mushy. The illumination is another huge problem. Nothing like the original in my opinion. In my particular replacement unit, the backlight was uneven in the center and much dimmer than the rest of the keys with only 3 keys close to matching the original MacBook illumination, The brightest keys are the F7, F8, and F9.Another problem is the CAPS LOCK key. The LED indicator light for CAPS Lock bleeds throughout the Key letters and it is much bright than stock. If the keyboard replacement job wasn't as difficult as it is, I would purchase another one from "I fix It" and replace it right away. Haven't heard anything but good things but the unit is very expensive. But I and definitely not doing this job again.M recommendation is, stay away from this keyboard brand and find a better one or you will regret it and be stuck with it as you will not want to replace it again.
