Every year my job picks a Halloween Costume Theme for our Company Wide contest and we have now won 8 years in a row. This year’s theme was Pirates and I know this set helped us cinch the win for sure. The hat with attached dreads was perfect! and the eye patch the facial hair and fake hoop were comfortable and lent the perfect air of authenticity to our group’s costume! Such a great accessory set and worth it!

If it is realistic authenticity that you are looking for, pass. But, if you are looking for a get-up that gets noticed and gets laughs, this might be a good option for you. The hat "soft" and padded, but very unstructured and somewhat floppy. I will say, the hair is thicker than I expected, and embodies the idea that there is a full head of hair underneath. The accessories are on par with the look of the hat; cheap but passable, and funny in that spirit. I'm giving 4 stars because there is some comedic presence to this assemblage, but it only warrants 3 stars if you are looking for a convincing pirate costume.

I got this for my husband to wear for halloween. I was worried the hat wouldn't fit his very large head, but it totally did and looked great. The earring is cheap, but effective (not tight enough for a small persons ear, it wouldn't stay on my daughter) and I couldn't get him to wear the beard (which seems sticky enough to stay on and was decent) but that hat is super. Comfortable and fun.

I bought this as a Halloween costume since my entire family will be going as pirates this year. It was a last-minute decision and I didn't want to spend a whole lot on a costume. This looked amusing in the photos, so I gave it a shot. It's great for what it is - a budget costume.Nothing in this set is very high quality. The hat is flimsy and doesn't hold its tri-tip shape at all. My wife has a firm tri-tip hat that's much higher quality. I imagine it might hold better if I tried to iron it or put some cardboard behind the brim. The eye patch is just a piece of felt on a elastic band. It's not very comfortable and can press a bit on the eyeball. The beard uses tape to stick on, so I only have it on loosely now because I doubt it will stick well if I remove it and reapply it. The earring is simple plastic in gold color and is adequate.Combined, all these mediocre quality items come together to form a hilariously campy costume. And that's exactly what I want. I'm not making a pirate movie or doing any reenactments here. For a cheap, temporary costume, it's great!
