I use this on an ft 991 because I like a little more base than the radio built in speaker provides. It does a great job of providing just a bit more depth to your ham radio audio.

My speaker only lasted 2 years before it stopped working. I had this mounted on a center console boat used in saltwater so it was exposed to rain and salt air, but I kept the console covered when not in use.

This is a really good speaker, I was amazed at the volume and quality of sound generated through this speaker by my previously anemic Standard Horizon Eclipse VHF radio. If you have a vhf on your boat, you need this remote speaker. Easy to install and works flawlessly.
