I live in Nevada and it gets so hot here the handle to climb out of our pool becomes almost red hot, impossible to touch. But with this installed, no matter how hot the day, even at 109 degrees, this remains cool to the touch. And it holds so tight to the rail, no slippage or pulling down. This has the zipper and it is a tight fit on the rail, so once in place, it stays put, no matter how hard you pull on it to yank yourself up out of the water. This is an excellent product. Also, I have not seen any evidence of it fading. I've seen a couple people post that theirs faded in only a few days, but I can categorically say that despite in being in the blaring sun week after week, it has not faded at all, and still looks great.

This item is the perfect solution to hot slippery swimming pool ladders. Fits perfectly and installs in minutes with the zipper closure. The color fades rather quickly in the summer sun but still holds shape and remains in place.

I am in Arizona, and installed early summer. This was super easy to install and looked great for a few weeks. Did great protecting hands from getting burned on the metal step rail. As with any of our outdoor fabric items, I sprayed on Scotchguard to help with UV fading to try to prolong the cover. Within a few weeks we already noticed extreme fading. Now a couple months later it's a weird gray-blue and looks old and dingy. I'll be replacing at the end of summer with something more durable.

This product is great, it really does make the hand rail touchable on really hot days. My only complaint is that it faded FAST. It went from beautiful blue to almost gray in 2 weeks. I expected this because our pool gets so much sun. I just didn't expect it to happen so quickly.

Here in the Arizona desert, any metal becomes dangerously hot to the touch, including stainless steel pool rails.So this 4-foot zip on neoprene cover looked to be the answer.First, the zipper cannot really take the curves of a smaller rail, and cannot tightly fit the rail without wrinkling. So be it.Secondly, the blue nylon (I think) over black neoprene (like wetsuit material) seems to last, but the blue color has really faded after just 23 days. Perhaps a lighter color would be better if it were offered.Bottom line, the cover went on easy and allows people to grasp the metal rail without getting burned.Price was reasonable.

In a weeks time they are almost completely faded out of color! They look awful. They are suppose to be royal blue, they are almost white now... They do not stand up to the sun at all!!! Don't waste your money.. Pools are in direct sun light, hence the need for railing protectors. The materials used in this item DO NOT hold up to sun conditions.
