We went through the whole holiday cycle with this speaker and it was great. The large speaker has a nice playback without any interference or buzzing. The lighting cycles are not too bright but definitely grab people's attention. The battery life was alright but we just kept it plugged in while in use. We were able to have it play music outside during the day and then bring it in at night to have some fun with the karaoke mode. The microphone it comes with does its job just fine. The whole family has added it to their phones to play their own music now. :)

If you’re considering buying this speaker, let me save you some time and frustration: DON’T.Connectivity Issues: The Speaker That Won’t ConnectOne of the biggest selling points of any Bluetooth speaker is, obviously, its ability to connect to devices. The Oakcastle PS200 fails spectacularly in this department. Right out of the box, I struggled to get it to pair with my phone. The instructions claim it should show up instantly in your Bluetooth settings, but after multiple attempts, restarts, and even resetting my phone, the speaker simply wouldn’t appear.Eventually, after about 15 minutes of frustration, the speaker finally showed up in my Bluetooth settings. But when I tried to pair it, it either failed to connect, disconnected immediately, or played no sound despite being “connected.” This issue wasn’t just a one-time thing—it happened every single time I tried to use it.And don’t even think about using it with multiple devices! If you try to switch from your phone to another device, you have to reset the speaker entirely because it refuses to pair with anything else. Oakcastle claims this speaker has “seamless switching,” but in reality, it’s the exact opposite.Audio Quality: When It Works (Which Is Rare), It’s Still BadOn the rare occasions that the speaker actually connected and played sound, I was immediately disappointed by the audio quality. The bass is nonexistent, the mids are muddy, and the treble is tinny and harsh. It sounds like a cheap $5 speaker rather than something that costs significantly more. The volume doesn’t get nearly as loud as advertised, and if you try to push it past 50%, the distortion is unbearable.Even when playing simple podcasts or audiobooks, there’s a weird crackling noise that comes and goes. I own 3- or 4 party speakers. This is the worst one of the bunch. It's not terrible by any means. It does have a great sound and people seem to enjoy the RGB lights. I never understood the appeal but it's a selling feature for a lot of people. The microphone sounds decent as well. The biggest complaint I have is the battery life is about half of the other party speakers I own. This might last a couple hours, but an all-day tailgate party would do this speaker in. The construction is on the cheap side as well. Overall, if this is all you can afford, it will do the job. My suggestion would be to save a little longer and buy a really good one.
