On a cautionary note; if you are pulling 3/8 pressed in studs out of a chevy V8 (283 in my case) I found out that the threaded 7/16 studs sold by ARP won't just thread in after you tap the heads to accept the new studs. The studs are too long and the head itself needs to have some machine work done on it to shorten the boss so that the upper threads for the rocker arms is low enough to install the rocker arms. Fortunately "Pioneer" makes threaded studs that do not have the hex base and are of the right length. Tapping the holes left after you pull the studs can be tricky; I would recommend letting a machine shop do all of the work but I did accomplish the task myself so I know it can be done.

It was used, i paid for new. The internal threads were gone, and external threads were galled and nut wouldn't even move. Absolute disappointment, especially after waiting for prime shipping that took over a week....

Received this today, when I opened he package I noticed the tool was oiled, but not greased. I Grease the threads weland began using the tool. I removed 8 studs in a half hour, took me three days to remove the studs from the other head, did this one in 30 mins. Greasing the shaft and threads kept it working like a champ. Grease, Grease, grease.

I like the design and it is a logical tool for intended purpose. I did not like the fact no instructions for use is included nor available at website or seller websites. It is my belief the inner threaded shaft was supposed to be supported so it could not turn. I couldn't hold it by hand using a Crescent wrench, so the inner shaft rotated until it wedged against the rocker stud. I was successful in pulling out one rocker arm stud on a Small Block Chevy Vortec head but the nut and inner shaft threads are stripped and I cannot separated the tool

This tool makes pulling the old rocker arm studs super easy. I tried using the stack of flat washers and nut method, but it took too long and I stripped a grade 5 nut in the process. Since this tool has a thrust bearing built in, there's no gouging the stud threads during the process. Also, if the stud threads are already damaged, you don't have to worry about completely ripping them off the old stud during the pulling process. You can easily pull a stud in two minutes or less with this tool, so I highly recommend it.
