I got a great deal because someone returned them. They didn't read the paperwork that came with the shocks. For the 2005 VTX 1800c you need to buy a older model top shock bolt for both sides. The diameter is smaller. After swapping them out the Shocks bolted on great. It lowered my motorcycle a good inch or so but I wanted that. I've always wanted Progressive shocks but didn't want to pay 300 $ Thank you Amazon for the redused price.

These are the 11.5" Heavy Duty 412. Although they're supposed to be an inch shorter than stock, they don't really lower the back end at all. Great shocks! Handle the bumps really well, and are comfortable.I'd recommend them on big bikes like my VTX 1800 N.EDIT: I got these about a year ago, and they're great shocks. Unfortunately, the bushings supplies with them are cheap, and only last about a year. I ordered new neoprene ones from Progressive Suspension, and they told me that they wouldn't have any for 2-3 weeks. Thought it odd that they sell shocks, but not the bushings to mount them with.

You can’t beat Progressive shocks. They feel fantastic and can be adjusted to fit everyone.

Great quality product--wish it came in black---I am told it used to, but was discontinued--this is a great disservice to us that don't like chrome, or have our bikes blacked out--
