I bought in January. Just took out of the box today March 20 2025. Power switch is broken and will not shut power supply off. Power supply is also VERY noisy on my radio

This is my second Pyramid bench power supply. The original powers a Kenwood HF with 30amps. This addition at 50amps will be able to power two (2) mobile Ham radios in the house with adequate power for other little draw items if needed. As a bonus, this unit also has two USB ports at 5v 2amps, (digital gateway?). Probably the best thing is the price for the quality. I know when my hopes and desires lead to more transceivers requiring stable regulated power, another Pyramid desktop power supply will be in my cart. This one took only three days for delivery!

The product states that it is a linear power supply in the title. It is a SWITCHED power supply, as is mentioned in the description. My inexperience made me miss this, and this product is near-useless for me.Like all switched power supplies, this product generates a fair amount of RF noise. If using this product for ham radio, this noise appears as peaks throughout the RF spectrum. This causes interference on certain frequencies, rendering those frequencies mostly or entirely unusable.Switched power supplies sometimes feature noise suppression, or a "noise offset" that allows you to move this interference off of a desired frequency. This power supply does not have these features. On its own, it is a poor choice for ham radio and other RF-dependent purposes. The "linear" descriptor is meant to mislead, and make this product seem like a good choice for these purposes.As a bench power supply, this would probably work fine for most applications. The USB ports are convenient, and two sets of output studs are nice to have. The dual analog meters and the adjustable voltage are also useful.As it is, the deceptive product title would make me pass on this product for any purpose. Don't be fooled like I was.

It was so long ago, I forgot whether the unit lost voltage or amperage first but once it started 3-4 months after purchasing, the decline was rapid. I do remember measuring the output when I first received it, and it was surprisingly accurate as to what the needle meters displayed vs measured amps/volts on my multimeter. Also recall it being unusually loud, but it handled a 25-ish amp load.Since it was now broken, I decided to open it up and see if I could possibly replace any burnt components or maybe find connections that needed to be re-soldered. Discovering what I confidently can say as the worst quality PCB I've ever seen in my life, I'm thankful my house didn't burn down. Now seeing pictures of other reviews, I'm certain quality control was being unknowingly tested by the first group of consumers and as units kept selling, problems were discovered, and alterations were made as time went on.Anyway, I'm pretty sure the Power Supply was the main culprit. I removed it a couple years back and never got around to finding a replacement until now. Has anyone had any luck with fixing a broken unit?Pyramid, please send me a new and updated unit and I will remove this review.

worked good until the time was up to send back . flip switch on and it lights up but it doesn't engage to work just lights up and ordered another one and switch was bad at first then it started to work properly the the voltage gauge quit ,then a couple days later it started to work some what. when it's 13.8 volts it reads 12 volts. i checked it with volt meter to assure the right voltage

This is much bigger than the dimensions shown in the photo. Looking closer, it is the side of the dimensions in the description. I bought it due to what I thought was a small footprint, but too big to leave on my bench. I have it sitting under the bench, not ideal, but could not afford to give up this much footprint in my limited workspace.

I bought this because it had a colt and amp meter so that I could see how much power I was outputting. It was extremely easy to set up, and there were no querks, or hoops I had to jump through.I have it hooked up to a taramps bass400 powering a kicker 15" subwoofer in my room. I got this because it supplies more power than I need, and it absolutely does.Both USB ports charge very fast (10 watts fast 😂) and the terminals seem well built. It also does not easily get hot, but I have not pushed it super hard yet, so maybe if I did, it would.That's about it, it's very simple and straight forward. If you do not need the amp or vault meter, I would not recommend spending the money, there are some cheaper ones without it, but if you do desire that, this is about the best I found.

Where can you get a 50W clean quiet regulated power supply for this money? Here! That's where...one minor suggestion to the manufacturer, add a dim lamp to the gauges.
