First introduced in 1975, the RaceQuip brand has built a reputation for manufacturing and distributing high-quality auto racing safety equipment. The SFI and FIA-rated auto racing and motorsports safety gear manufactured by RaceQuip is recognized by and designed for use in almost any racing series or sanction.

The RaceQuip 130 series Chevron-1 single-layer SFI-1 racecar driver's fire suit is designed with a stylish Euro design and made from Pyrovatex FRC material and exceeds the SFI 3.2A/1 rating. This fire retardant cotton based (FRC) material is used because it retains the softness and breathability of cotton and will wick away moisture from the skin. Pyrovatex fabric is gentle and non-irritating to even the most sensitive skin. The treatment process leaves the exterior surface shiny and supple. Since the Pyrovatex process combines a chemical agent with the raw cotton fibers to create a bond at the molecular level with proper care the suit will retain its flame retardant properties beyond the useful life of the garment. Note that sometimes racing suits are referred to as "fireproof", but actually all auto racing safety gear is "fire retardant". Pyrovatex offers the maximum combination of overall flame and heat protection, durability and comfort. The Chevron-1 suit is assembled with heavy-duty, multi-needle, over-lock safety stitch machines to provide exceptional seam strength. Chevron pattern box quilting is utilized to produce a unique, stylish look. The Chevron-1 features a high-quality heavy-duty Nomex backed brass zipper installed with a double overlap for a more secure front opening and it’s a two-way zipper for convenience. Contrasting black Euro style epaulets, black side panels and black at the leg cuffs offer great styling. The knit stretch side panels along with 180° floating arm gussets provide added flexibility. The wrist and ankle cuffs are black Nomex with a boot cuff leg. A two-piece, adjustable belt with a stretch section in the back gives a fitted, custom look. Internal bag pockets are also provided for convenience. Available in Black, Red and Blue with Black accents and manufactured in sizes from Small – XXX-Large (refer to sizing chart).

If you like to race this is good insurance. Just like insurance, or carrying a weapon, this is something you hope you'll never need, but you'll be darn happy you have it off you do need it. The fit is excellent. Very generous cut and it looks stylish to boot. I personally like the peace of mind I have from wearing this at the track.
