Needed replacements quickly for my leaking xreas replacement. Being a complete assembly made these the easy choice but they haven’t lasted. The dampening adjusters need to be greased immediately or they seize, read that from others and did so. The weight of the V8 made the springs sag quickly and now, about 9000kms later the lower bushings are worn out.Could understand this if the vehicle was driven offroad regularly but this vehicles hasn’t been at all. Disappointed with Rancho products.

I bought the rancho struts for a 04 4Runner. At first, the struts worked great but after 6 months the rubber spacers disintegrated. This allowed the spring to rub against the top mounting plate resulting in a awful screeching noise. I contacted Rancho for assistance where they stated I would have to remove the strut and ship it back in order to even be considered for a refund. This would leave my car inoperable for several weeks until a new strut could be shipped back. Which is obviously not an option for 90% of the people. In other words, the customer service is an absolute joke. I, therefore, left the struts on the car and have been that way for 2 years now. Which, brings to my next point. The strut top mounting plates have now failed and sound exactly like the stock struts I needed replacing in the first place. This was with only 40,000 miles on them. The ride quality on these struts are piss pour as well. “ rides like a bucking bronco” with aftermarket UCAs. I would not recommend these struts to anyone. If you need a replacement and want a lift. Buy literally any other brand and you’ll be much more satisfied. Stock struts with a spacer would be better than these. Please save yourself the headache.

Quality appears to be very good, my only dilemma is how do you tell the difference between a Lt side, RS999913 and a Rt side, RS999914? They both arrived quick enough but between work and the weather I had to wait a short while to do the swap out on my 07 FJ TRD Ed., but after I pulled my original struts and was ready to put in the new ones I can't tell between the two new struts, they're not labeled 13 or 14 from what I can see... There are visible differences on the old struts between the lt and rt sides, the left OEM strut end of coil at the bottom ends on the right side and the rt side OEM strut end of coil at the bottom ends on the left side... the new struts look exactly alike, the coils both end on the left side with the knobs facing you... (I suspect I received 2 of the same, I emailed Rancho but especially on Labor Day weekend there's no one to be reached) Can someone tell me the differences, there must be something for the Lt and Rt sides to have unique part numbers? End of day, now I'm forced to put all the OEM parts back in, not a happy camper... For now, I've got to lower the rating for inadequate labeling of individual units, I'll change it if needed when I'm aware of unknown markings...

At first measurement the truck sat 2 1/2 inches higher, but after driving it around for 15 minutes it settled. 1 1/2 INCHES of lift. if I put the rear spacers on I'll be in the same situation as I was before I started..i.e. Nose to the ground...It needed a lift now I'm at a dilemma as to weather or not I should put the spacers on the front then add the spring blocks to the rear. My truck has never been off road has 28000. miles is like new all I wanted was to be able to haul my car trailer and not sag.. I bought bags for the rear I'll install them tomorrow without the blocks and see what happens. Oh and by the way I have many tools and know how to use them and this is not a fast install on these struts. Disconnect the sway bar first both sides completely. then the lower bolt to the strut, then the three on top, pull out cotter pin on upper ball joint unscrew half way smack with a ballpean hammer, disconnect the tie rod end as well. brake line 10 mm and the abs line 12mm support with jack and jack stands.

Smooth transition from factory Toyota equipment. Leveled the FJ Cruiser and the ride is unchanged on the 1/2 setting. No need to play with adjustments since factory setting suited my needs. Better than installing a cheesy lift spacer to factory springs. Complete kit ready to install!

So far so good. (5k miles)Install was done professionally so it was easy for me.Definitely recommend an alignment once these are installed.Installed in to a 2003 4-Runner Sport V8 and now that the springssettled, the truck is within a 1/2 inch of level with the nosebeing ever so slightly higher. I imagine over the next month orso the vehicle will be level.Much better than the nose droop from the factory. And WAY cheaper than replacing with Toyota's factoryhydraulic sports shocks and to be honest, the vehicle feels just aswell planted with these shocks as it did with the factory X-REAS mess.

It makes the FJ look straight instead of having the front lower than the rear. I didn't put bigger tires, but the car looks better and I believe it runs even better on very bad dirt roads all around Baja. I had to replace the front ones after 50k because the bushes worn out, but I guess is more because of the very hard use.
