It works as intended, but the resistor provided to charge it up wasn't working well, and wouldn't get it above 8 volts if I recall, which took a while. It could be because I was using the 12v battery line like I assume most people will, rather than a 20v source it's made for. I tried a smaller resistor, not much better. Tapping it with the raw 12v battery line did the trick. Just be careful, this is a lottt of power that can discharge instantly. Wrap the negative connection/pole in electrical tape before you charge. You do NOT want this to short circuit. Once it's installed, no problems. I was worried it might suck power from the battery while the car was off, but it's all set.

First of all, not a bad item…I think?. Not sure if it’s a true 4 farad, kind of doubt it, capacitors are a bit worthless in the first place especially if you’re pulling a lot of power. Had a hard time with the charging, I did use the included resistor of course, couldn’t get it above 5 volts, eventually just tossed my 12V power wire on it and made sure it had a solid ground, seemed to shoot up to high 13s and low 14s just fine but was just weird how it stopped. Currently have my amp down to 8 ohms at roughly 1300 RMS and I’ll drain this capacitor within a solid 5-10 seconds. It just kinda starts blinking and goes from 14 to 9.5 ish volts pretty fast at least that’s what the led display shows…which makes 0 sense because my amps operating voltage is 11-16 VDC and will immediately go into protection below 11, granted, there is still 12 volts consistently passing through but it seems to be a bit of a bottleneck for my system. I’m no professional by any means but this is just my two cents and experience with it. Wouldn’t be a bad buy for

Mine showed up broken and wouldn't take a charge. Used the resistor properly, just wouldn't take a charge. Sent it back and got my full refund.

My 3500 watt amp still draws down but now with dual battery setup and this cap I never drop bellow 12.7volts. I was dropping to 9 v before

If I ever need another one or need to recommend one this would be my choice It was a little weird figuring out how to get it charged but it was my first time installing a audio setup by myself

Do not build a stereo in a car without one of these. Charged it through a resistor and the charge time checked out to 4 farads. Has a great look. Buy with confidence.
