Because of its design the ratcheting mechanism locks into the belt further from the end of the belt than most other similar buckles, thus there is more belt extending past the buckle and less adjustability. In my case the first notch at which the belt could be adjusted was too small for my waist. Therefore I can not use it. Beware when cutting your belt to size.
