This company has issues with what fits your truck and what doesn’t. There information is not correct and you may get a step that doesn’t fit- even though they say it will. Disappointed. Had to return. Order from someone else.

Glad I spent the extra money on an AMP product instead of something less expensive. Large, sturdy aluminum bracket attaches to the frame. Easy to reach two bolt installation. Very happy with the purchase.

I had this installed this morning 7-19-21, at a trim shop and it works wonderful.. I am a short woman with bad knees and I can't climb up into the back of my truck very well anymore so needed a little help. This little step flips down from underneath the bumper with just the touch of my toe on the corner where my finger is in the photograph and I've got an easy way up.. Flips right back up when not in use. So easy to flip back up, you can do it with a bare foot.. The weight limit of the step is 250 lbs.. I like it so much that I'm going to have one put on the other side of the tailgate. It's great for us short people, kids or anyone who just wants an easy step up into the back of their truck.

Can say enough good things about this product. Easy to install and the construction is very robust.I have a bad knee so this step is total game changer for me and makes getting in and out of the box of my F150 amazingly easy.

This has been on my F-150 for about 4 plus years. It was easy to install, just two bolts. Very well made, fairly robust casting and operating mechanism. Deploys to a reasonably height so entering the bed with the tailgate down is no problem. Not like those "other" brands that have a step in the bumper that is still too high for us guys with more time under our belts. Extends and retracts without a problem by using your foot. Retracts with a "thud" but rubber bumper keeps it from any damage. After four plus years it still works and looks great. It handles me easily at 230 lbs. Does not flex when used. You just have to pay attention just where it is when you dismount the bed as you are backing out and it really isn't visible with the tailgate down but your leg can only go down in a certain area and it's not hard to get the hang of it at all. I have even forgot to retract it back up and drove around all day with it down and it did not scrape anything. It does come in handy for us guys who just can't hop up in the bed like we used to.

Super DOOPER! An easy to install ( if you have the tools, 1/2" drive ratchet/sockets, torque wrench, etc. ), easy to use, safe ( NOT slippery, or slick ) bumper corner step. Friendly installation instructions. Spring-loaded return to storing position. Deploy/store with foot. NOT cheap, but durable and handy to use. Step up on tailgate and save the knees. Usable with tailgate down or up. Will transfer to my next truck, or buy another if truck is different make. A wise step investment. Packed well, arrived FAST w/PRIME!

I ordered the unit on Sunday and it arrived on Wednesday with free shipping! The packaging was in great shape. I took 15 minutes to assemble and install the unit. I already had a 21mm socket for the bumper attachment bolts since I have had Ford trucks since 1980. The unit works great and fit around my dual exhaust. Again, overall design, materials and quality are top notch as these should be for $200. The unit pushes down with just the right amount of force and then springs back into position and stays in place under the bumper. The step is the perfect height for me to enter my truck with the tailgate down. I am 6' and weigh 210 and the step is very solid. The mounting system is very strong and ties into two of the existing bumper to frame bolts.

Got this for my 2012 Ford F-150 FX4. While Amazon didn't list the 2012 as being supported with this product, AMP Research's web site did so I ordered it with confidence. It shipped and arrived very quickly. It had good packaging protecting all the contents. Not that it matters because each part is incredibly solid and appears to be well engineered and manufactured. Directions were well written and I followed them with ease. Installation took about 10 minutes. The only downside was that they recommended a torque wrench, which I don't own and I wasn't going to plunk-down $90 for. So I had to guestimate how tightly to secure the bolts.The area on the step used to lower it is a tad too narrow. You wind-up running your boot along the bumper hoping to catch the step. AMP Research could extend it out another .5" and make it much easier to get your boot on without making it stick-out too far on the side. Also, the material used to design the step is somewhat slick. It's not a non-skid rubber surface, its a hard composite. It's fine most of the time, but in cold wet weather I could see this getting slippery. However, I liked it better than the other fold-down step I found on Amazon. That one had plastic caps on each side of the step. I could see those quickly breaking-off after grinding my boot on it a few times, so I went with the Bedstep.Hinge works very well. Spring keeps the step up under the bumper when you're driving around and makes it easy to retract.Step is rated at 300 lbs. I weigh 260 lbs. When I step on it, I see some flex in the step & arm (flexes down to the left) but it holds me and I can easily use it. Time will tell if it holds-up to that kind of strain over the long haul.

This is a great investment for your truck. The step is easy to install and is very helpful when you need to get into the truck bed.03/05/2013 - this is an update to the above review which was from February 2011, this step is been on my truck for just over 2 years and it's been a great addition to my truck. It works flawlessly and makes it easy to get in and out of the truck and even after 2 years the step still looks great and has had no issues whatsoever.
