Beware if you have a body lift. I have a 3" body lift on my tacoma and beaches of it you have a gap. Doesn't flush up to bumper.

I should've purchased this years ago. Instead of crawling onto the tailgate and rolling into the bed, those days are over. I just lower the bed step with my foot and step up into the bed.My quality of life has been improved!Installation:It took me about 30 min. to gather my tools and install. I am slow, take my time, since I don't move as quickly as I use to. I removed one star because of the bolts that are inside a well area. No problem though, just start the bolts with your fingers, then tighten using a 6" socket extension and torque according to instructions.Instructions were very good and videos helped beforehand. Be careful with the allen screw torques. The instructions say 6ft lbs but my torque wrench doesn't go that low. So, I tightened very tight with my hands using allen wrench.Also, I have a Curt Class 3 trailer hitch which was not an issue.Easy of use:I mean this should be standard equipment! So easy to use. You just lower with your foot, and you can use your foot or hand to raise it back up. From now on, I won't have to look for a ladder and suffer through the process of getting into and out the truck bed. The material is made in the USA and no quality issues.

This is a great step to help you get into the bed of the truck. I have a Toyota Tacoma truck that has the TRD sport packags. it is raised like a 4x4, but isn't a 4x4. It also has a camper shell on it. Using the step, it is much easier to climb into the truck bed with the camper shell on it. It is easy to install if you are positioned correctly. I tried to install it while laying behind the left rear bumper without success. It didn't seem like it would fit. I called Amp Research customer service, they said it should fit, and were very helpful. I finally positioned myself laying on the ground behind the left rear wheel and I was able to get the step to easily fit. Duh. If it had not been for me not thinking, I would have installed it a lot faster. Make sure you use a ratchet and a 6 inch ratchet extension to unscrew and screw on your vehcle's frame bolts.

Terrific addition to the Tacoma. Now it's easy to climb into the truck bed. Very sturdy and well built and designed. Took about 15 minutes to install. Highly recommend.

Easy install only hampered by Toyota's decision to use a bolt with tiny little threads made it the only tricky part of the installation. Had to be very careful in a tight space to make sure not to cross-thread the bolt. Bed step works great, easing access to the bed of the truck and saving my knees.

My AMP Research BedStep has been a real delight from the moment I took it out of the box. The bed step is convenient and practical. They should be mandatory on all full size pickups. Climbing on the back of the truck is so much easier now. Before I would have to strain to get my short legs up to the back bumper and hang on to the rail hoping I didn't slip or lose my grip and fall down. Now, the bed step, being the perfect height, allows me to step onto the tailgate without much effort. No more dirty clothes or thought of having to craw up on the tail gate to grab items on the bed of your truck that perhaps slid to an area of the bed that couldn't be reached from either side or two risky to remove from either side for fear of scratching or damaging your truck.The instruction and installation weren't very difficult. However, you need a heavy duty wrench or socket to loosen a couple nuts under the back bumper to install the bed step. I just went to a mechanic friend who took a minute and loosened them up for me. I did the rest.

This step installed in about fifteen minutes. The washers were not really undersized, as someone mentioned. They were snug, but slipped on easily with just a couple of taps. The step works readily and sure makes it easy to step into and out of the truck bed. Definitely less costly than a nearly identical one from Toyota.

I was very happy with how easy it was to install and it is very helpful to get in and out of the bed of the truck. I was disappointed when something as simple as the flat washers that they sent to help with connecting the mount to the pivot assembly were too small. Even so, I just got larger washers and everything else went smooth. A very useful and practical device.
