Opened up the package it had six bolts in it when it calls for at least nine on each side and then it had no instructions and told me to download them from a website and when I looked at the website it wasn't the right truck didn't even look like a Chevy it was a Ford they were putting them on

Arrived ahead of schedule and packaged well to ensure safe arrival. The build and paint quality are great. They look great on my truck. The mounting points get them on the truck but dont leave me with a high level of confidence. I have a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Ext. Cab. The instructions for fastening have you drill holes, within 1-eigth of an inch of the bottom edge of the pinch weld. The edgde is at the lowest edge of the cab. Extensions on the mounting brackets are built to have it cantalever off the sidewall at the base of the cab. But they are built with mounts and brackets that make you think theyd be screwed in too. Nope. You get a good feel of stability when you use the step because the downward pressure of your step pushes the step ar onto the inside wall at the base of the cab. The big problem is, since they're not fastened at the top, they rattle like an SOB as you drive around. I mean the make A LOT of noise and it makes me concerned that the vibrations will cause the pinch weld fastening points to fail over time. Ive decided to buy a threaded insert gun to install some inserts and fasteners where the brackets rest against the inside wall at the base of the cab. N-Fab should've consided this and had a plan to get them mounted more solidly during install rather than having their customers engineer their own solutions. Thus, the 2-star rating.

They look nice on the truck but major PITA to install and I had my truck on the lift at work and had 2 guys helping me. And I feel like they could come up with a better way to mount them without having to drill through the pinch weld. And the instructions that came with them weren't even for my truck I had to go online and find the right installation instructions.

Although it is the model listed for my son’s truck, the fitment was terrible. Had I known drilling into the rocker panel spot welds were the only attachment points I would not have considered it. It appears there may be a way to bolt it to the floor as well, but the instructions did not mention it. I purchased these based on my experience with the one I installed on my Nissan Titan which mounted directly to the frame and are solid. Not the flimsy seam welded attachment. Also, the instructions are minimal at best. Very disappointed.

Let’s start with the good.They look phenomenal on my 04 extended cab silverado. No complains there. Plus I got them at a good price.The bad (which keeps us away from 5 stars) is that the instructions are very complicated. It’s like an art class where you’re told step 1 is to draw one line, step 2 is to draw another line, and then step 3 is the entire elephant. Nonetheless worth it.

The number one thing here is just that they are a nice step. They look the best compared to anything on the market but there are some draw backs. First and main point is the way they mount-it sucks. Period. Drill holes into the pinch weld and let it hang and take the wait there? Well... not actually sure, because the instructions suck. Extremely vague and there's no measurements given, no pictures or orientation ideas, etc. problems found with that... the pinch weld isn't really tall enough and it's pretty hackish the way you have to mount up. When you mark your holes you can't go too high or too low. Instructions say 1/4" up.... well guess what? If you go a 1/4" (on my particular application, which these are for) then you don't have enough pinch weld. AND if you don't get your holes in a perfect spot, it will wiggle when you put weight on it. Why can't these mount like every other step on the market for these truck? I could go on about details for this for quite a while but bottom line, mounting sucks and so do the instructions sheet. I'm a master tech for two different automotive brands, equipment design and service tech, and fabricator. I'm not new to this, this design is just poor. The other major concern is that mine showed up beat to hell. Powder scratched off, box destroyed, etc. Asked for some money back or a new set, they didn't listen to me and sent UPS to pick them up AFTER they were installed. Then when I explained it had been a week now and they were installed and that I just wanted some money back because they're so big and a PITA to try and package up to send back and that I no longer had a box, I just didn't get a reply back after that. Sweet service.
