The step broke off the first time I went to use it. Really needs metal structure under the step. It’s unfortunate since the fold away mechanism is sturdy and the installation was easy.

Works great on my ‘17 F-250. Can’t beat the price. Installs easy. I have had it installed for a year now. Absolutely love this step.

Just installed the step so I can not comment on the long term durability. Initial impressions are that it is well built and has a strong mount. Has a thick powder coat finish on it.The instructions can be a little misleading because it tells you not to torque bolts in one step and then tells you to torque them the next step. It also has the wrong wrench/socket sizes in the instructions. Sometimes it's one size down or a 12mm bolt and 13mm nut. I used an 11/32 socket on the F450. It's a little hard to get to 2 of them when installing. It says use a swivel head but there isn't room for that. Takes about an hour for install. Despite the install problems, I am still giving it 5 stars.

This step is very convenient and quick to install. I have used a similar step from a factory install on a previous truck, this step is comparable with one exception, it has a bit of “flex” in the platform you step on.Price was almost 1/2 the cost of a Ford factory step!
