I bought this to plug into my trailer connector on my truck for use in mines to meet MSHA requirements to have a backup alarm. However, this alarm only sounds if there is a trailer connected through the plug as well. I’m not pulling a trailer into the mine, and it doesn’t work standalone, so it’s useless to me. Plus, it didn’t mention this requirement of use anywhere on the listing.

It does nothing when installed on my 2023 GMC 3500HD. It does work on my 2002 Toyota tundra.

I bought three of these and two of them work perfectly. One kept beeping after the truck was turned off. The beep is not very loud but that works for me. I did attach a cord to hold it securely as I drive over rough roads. I have watched as unaware people look up from their phones in parking lots when I’m backing up.

Exactly what was needed. Cannot hear it inside the cabin with rolled up windows, but sufficiently loud to keep people alert.

These are great for leased pickups. Had to drill small hole to make it load enough with the lid closed
