It worked for five months, only occasionally getting jammed. After five months it jams every time and needs to be replaced.

I bought this as a backup last year when the replacement ice maker I bought in 2021 started acting up. I thought I would save $25 dollars and it should be fine. I was able to get the one from 2021 running again until yesterday. I thought “That’s OK I have a replacement. I installed the unit and it produced one batch of ice. I looked inside and saw that the arm didn’t fully return to the open position and reset it. After several tries to get it to work, the arm wouldn’t return to the open position (fully down). I ordered the more expensive one. That one was installed yesterday and is working perfectly.

It is working, but I don't have much confidence in these non-OEM parts. The original lasted TWELVE YEARS. My first replacement, an aftermarket item like this one, only ran for TWO YEARS.Time will tell. I bought a fourth and put it on my garage shelf, knowing these things go out like candles.

We have ICE!!!This is a great item, fast shipping, well packaged and easy to install. This solved my problem of my ice maker not working and a lot cheaper the OEM parts. I would recommend this item to anyone who is needing a replacement.

The ice maker was slightly harder than just installing it due to some changes in the design. The original design had flaws so the new design compensated for those. Nothing too difficult, but some wiring had to be changed. Instructions were included to change the wiring. It started working when installed and has since.
