This bottom case is a replacement to the original bottom case on a 17" laptop. I purchased an Upper Keyboard Case at the same time and both fit together perfectly and were exact replicas of the original cases. Everything fit perfectly when I placed the bottom case on the keyboard case. All screws line up perfectly for the hinges and DVD Player. Very pleased with the end result. I thought I was going to have to consider buying a new laptop but these cases have given new life to a laptop that has many more years to give and is now repurposed.

The case was a perfect replacement for the well-used original from 2019. Here it is, 2024. The swap took about a half-hour but I've been in my laptop many, many times over the years. This is the bare case though- no hinges, no little rubber grippy strips on the bottom, no screws. That's fine- reuse all that stuff from your case.

Mouse pad did not work. Wasn't going to take it all apart ti send back so had to buy a external mouse. Yes it was bad I plugged in old pad from broken 1 it works plug in new 1 dead. Not happy

If you're looking at this, I'm pretty sure there's a good chance your monitor hinges seized up and eventually broke your HP 17 case as well. This bottom case cover was a perfect one-to-one replacement for mine. Hinges fixed, laptop back together like new. Be aware that if the hinges are indeed your problem, they attach directly to the top cover, and you'll likely either need to replace that as well, or get acquainted with a little JB Weld in order to anchor the brass inserts again.
