Great Product, new, but touch pad did not work - we were under a time crunch, so we did not return it and removed the plastic welds and put the original in the new palm rest and plastic welded it on.

The item arrived on time and was well padded in the box. It is a direct replacement for the HP original top that cracked due to a swollen battery inside of the laptop. Since the motherboard, daughter cards, speakers, etc. are all attached to this piece (behind the keyboard) it takes a little while to port over the "guts" of the laptop. Takes pics before you start removing screws so you can remember where things go when it reassemble with this new part. Take note that some screw holes will NOT be filled until you put the final backside back onto the laptop. Once it was all put back together, the laptop looks great and works like it should. Just be extra careful when attaching the ribbon cables for the keyboard and touch pad. Work slow and methodically and refer to your pictures from earlier to make sure you get it all put back together the same as when you took it apart.

I got this for my client whose keyboard was malfunctioning. With my bare eye inspection prior to the replacement job, I noticed the touchpad connector was not opened properly. I'm a 30+ experienced computer tech. When I forced to open the plastic latch, it was broken. Because the due was close, I had to take the keyboard parts only for my job. I really wanted to return it, but my circumstance did not allow it. If you're a buyer, inspect the touchpad connector first. This is manufacturing inpection failure level part IMO.

The keyboard works great, but the touchpad wouldn't work. The driver simply would not install.

I received one with a inoperable touch pad and ordered a replacement. The replacement TouchPad also did not work.
