I bought this replacement keyboard for my Nitro 5 laptop, and it has been a lifesaver. With the additional tools and a YouTube video, I was able to replace my broken keyboard myself. The process was straightforward, and the new keyboard works perfectly. Highly recommend this product for anyone needing to replace their laptop keyboard! But make sure it is the same model of your Nitro 5 because there are different models.

Works as a keyboard but backlight does not work. And after the amount of work to replace it I don't care it can stay broke I guess... It's literally to the hardest computer repair job ever. You must remove like 40 plastic welds and completely disassemble and then it's just barely in there unsecured after you reassemble

This fits the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-51-50PN. The replacement process will take some time, since the battery, touchpad, fans, mainboard & peripheral board need to be removed to get the the keyboard. The keyboard is held in with melted plastic studs. I cut the studs flush and held the new keyboard in place with hot glue at each stud point. Keyboard looks and feels like the original.

The keyboard it self is just like oem. The issue is when doing the repair, to remove the metal backing and removing the keyboard from the plastic you lose a lot of the “tightness”. The keyboard will not stay as high as prior unless you do some gluing. There are little plastic stubs that were melted to hold in the metal.

Please note: for this specific model the keyboard places all function keys and the escape key in an evenly spaced line. This fits the external dimensions, but fails to align with the Acer Nitro 5 Form factor that I have (spaces every 4 function keys as well as between the ESC and F1). By the same company, there is also a proper form factor - that is nigh identical in every way, other than the proper spacing. 'Compatible with' is listed for the same models on both. The return process is fantastic for this, BUT, it turns out I needed the other form factor.

Very nice replacement keyboard. The only catch is, to replace the keyboard you almost have to break out the original from the chassis as the grips are plastic mounted and seemingly breaks off when you disassemble. Watched a video of some guys doing it, quite brutal.Like with my Acer SWIFT 3 keyboard replacement which came with the laptop top chassis mount, I think this would've been great to has this as well and I would've paid for that, as I'm sure you'd only be able to do this ONE time, hoping not to totally break the chassis as the broken plastic grip leftovers will have to be melted back with a soldering iron to make sure the new keyboard fits nicely. Obviously this is no reflection on the seller or product, but in hindsight the "engine with the hood" together would've been a good combination without needing to "break" the OEM keyboard out.
