There were no problems at all with this replacement part. The functionality is just fine the keyboard, mouse, mouse buttons, and power button all worked without any issues. The transfer of the parts from the old plate to the new one was very easy as it was just a job of mirror image placement of the computer. The end results was a like new computer.

When my HP-17 laptop hinges broke, I thought I needed a new laptop. I was in shambles. Everything works well on my laptop. Very fast with an i7 chip and 32g of Ram. And it has 2T hard drive. Despite all that, the laptop is inoperable with broken hinges; not to mention, an ugly eye sore.I did the research and was relieved to know this was a common issue on the HP-17 and that there are plenty of parts available. I was quick to order this perfect match for my laptop and I couldn't be happier. Every part that I transferred was a perfect fit.One tip to all reading this. Make sure you loosen and apply oil on the hinges of the display monitor before reinstalling it, which is what caused the damage in the first place. Over time, the grease dries up and the hinges get very stiff on the HP-17. Mine was super stiff. There are YouTube videos that help with the fix.What a life saver. My HP-17 was about $1.5K about 5 years ago and now it's as good as new.

Not as good as oem but for the price it’s great. The back lit keyboard plugged into my motherboard and works great.

This HP laptop model has crappy hinges that can crack the palm rest (like they did on mine). This palm rest works perfectly, and I was able to install it myself with the help of a YT video. Look up "Start to Finish HP 17 by Keyboard Palmrest Replacement" by UberGeeks. So glad I don't need to buy a new laptop yet!

Used to this part to replace the upper case (containing the keyboard and touch pad) on an HP 17-by1023cl. The original had broken out hinge mounts for the display due to seized hinges. It fit perfectly, just like an OEM part.My original keyboard was not backlit. While I had the laptop opened up, I found that the cable and connector for the keyboard backlight was present, so I took the chance and ordered the part with the backlight feature. I now have a backlit keyboard, an upgrade on top of a perfect replacement.Unlike some reviews, my touch pad works perfectly. Make sure you read the touch pad compatibility notes provided by the seller and verify touch pad compatibility before you order.
