Rough Country stands behind their product and promptly shipped new set. These are very cool steps. For wife’s jeep and she likes this set as well as any we have had over the last four jeeps. Love how they snug up close to Jeep for a very clean look. Seem pretty strong as I bounced on them to check- saying as a step. Would not want to test as a rub rail for off roading.I am in contact with the manufacturer and will adjust review accordingly.Thr driver side went in smoothly. Love the look of these. The passenger side was a different story. The holes in the step rail that hold the bracket are tapped incorrectly. I work on my own vehicles and stuff, I did not cross thread. I tried all the holes and 8mm bolts would not start. I was going to retap, but then they would not match bolts supplied. I think they are sae rather than metric, but I stopped before I went that far. Frustrating to have one installed and one bad.

Don't buy! Have had Rough Country Shocks and Lifts in the past that were great. This product was shipped poorly, had numerous dings and scratches on it from poor packing. Very poor welding on one step. Amazon did give me a break on the price, but I'm going to spend more than that for a new powder coating job on them.

Don’t even take the time to scan the code for directions. Go to YouTube and watch the video. Mine came scratched, so just expect it.

I had to cut about 1/4 inch off of each bracket and drill each of the mounting holes larger to get screws to align. If you don’t have a way to cut metal and drill larger holes on the mounting brackets you’ll be unable to install these. I was installing these in a 2021 JLU. Also, for better body alignment I put the rear rocker panel bracket on the inside and the front/middle on the outside of rocker panel. Made the rear align better in my opinion. This was not an easy task. Instructions Said 1-2 hours and it took me 4 hours or so. I consider myself fairly handy. I broke out an angle grinder, sawzall, drill, dremel, mig welder, black spray paint to prevent rust, and hand tools that instructions stated were the required tools. Buyer beware!

I went with a 2 star as I love the final look of the running board. If not for that, definitely 1 star.Rough Country needs to fix 2 big problems.1) The instructions are pure garbage. Two pages, black & white, non-clear pictures, even had a rip going down the middle of the pages. I had to search for YouTube videos, and even that left some room for interpretation.2) I was able to get the first side on once I worked through the horrible instructions. However, when I went to do the passenger side, one of the three holes to bolt it to the Jeep was off by about half a bolt width. So, I had to get a filing bit attached to my drill and basically keep drilling the hole larger until I could slide the bolt in. If it would not have been more trouble to send this back, I would not have messed with this. However, by this time I already had one side installed, so it seemed less effort to just "fix" it.This was one of the more expensive sets of running boards on Amazon so I would have expected better fabricating and better install instructions.

Took me an hour or so. Well made. Instructions weren’t the best but one you orient everything it went on well. I am very pleased with the look and my vertically challenged girlfriend loves them.
