After placing base on rug and then re-positioning it, there was a black ring left on the rug. On closer inspection, the entire base was covered in a wet, black moldy substance.

We were looking for a simple table that was very small and could hold a drink, that would look nice in our home and be affordable. This was exactly that. It’s easy to put together and the base is nice and sturdy.

The little drinks table is quite lovely for my purpose. It is well made , exactly what I wanted, however there is as the picture shows a growth on the bottom. Not knowing what was growing on the bottom of the table I returned it to Amazon and ordered a replacement.Better to be safe than sorryThe replacement came today , I was able to see that the base is made of cardboard covered with a thin, flimsy, dyed artificial felt,the little table is not bad for the money , it is to bad the manufacture put such a poor quality element on a rather nice little table.The replacement table base looked not 100% so I wiped with an antibacterial l and left it in the sun for an hour just to be sure / safe.If not for the base I would have given the table a 5 star review.I contacted Stead furniture and informed them also.If anything develops with the table I kept, I will report back. No news is good news.

Make sure to measure your space because these tables are SHORT. But they are perfect for what I was looking for. They sit shorter than the arm of my couch. I bought 2 and placed 2 lamps on them. There is just enough space to have a drink sit on the table. The heavy bottom makes them very sturdy! They feel high end west elm.

The height is perfect for our couch and I love how easy it is to reach for things while lounging! The base is so sturdy and heavy duty that I am not worried at all about it tipping over!!! Amazing value for the price.
