I think these renaissance pants are a bit nicer than some of the other ones I've seen, although whether you agree depends on whether you like these style elements. Personally, I like the metal buttons, it's much nicer than a drawstring. And I also like that the lacing on the legs goes higher than normal. It gives you more of a chance to appreciate the lacing and even do something fancy with it.The material is about what you'd expect - something lightweight with a bit of coarseness to it for effect. They're comfortable to wear.The sizing is pretty good, I'd say it runs a little small at the waist and a little long in the leg (but I have short legs). If you're right on the edge, I would size up for the waist.

The buttons have an interesting appearance. They seem properly sewn on and the buttonholes are sized right for them. 100% cotton and the waistband has elastic in the back so you can get a good fit within a range. There's a drawstring inside you can tie to hold them up if they are too loose or if/when the elastic stretches out. My waist is just right for these at about 32 down from 34 recently so that I barely stretch the elastic at all and if it were not there I could tug the button and hole together and the waistband would loosen a bit with wear, like jeans waistbands do.These are ankle length breeches and I don't know if the lace up bottom part is historically accurate for any breeches but if you stick them in tall boots or wear stockings or leg wraps over them nobody would know except thinner stockings might look bulky and strange. For my calves I can lace them up about as tight as they will go and get a pretty close fit to my bare leg. They lace up from the bottom rather than the top so you don't have laces flopping around by your feet and as shipped they were left loose at the bottom and fully laced higher up. This allowed me to pull them over my feet easily and from there tightening the laces to get them close-fitting at the ankle takes a couple of minutes. With a little practice snugging and unsnugging the breeches at the ankle will go pretty quick - it did for me doing it once. I took them off and measured my leg. Ankle 23cm, calf 38cm. If your legs are thinner at either or both points you may not be able to get them any tighter than I did. If that's the case where the inseam would be if there was one can be pinned and sewn to fit your legs better.I think you're going to be pleased with these if you get the right size.

I ordered these pants to use with my ever-growing collection of Halloween costumes. This is a very nice, well-made pair of pants. They are 100% cotton and the fabric has a rustic, but not rough feel and hand. I am a size 16-18 woman that weighs 225 lbs., so I opted for the size XL (mens) and the fit was perfect. The pants have a partial elastic waist and a five-button closure. The buttons are a bronze metal, that is somewhat decorative in style. The brown color is true to what shows online. I think for the quality of the fabric, materials, and sewing, that these pants are a great value for the money. I like the ties from the knees down as it makes these pants very easy to tuck into boots.

These are very nice pants that are made of more appropriate fabric than other offerings (cotton, while not authentic, looks miles better than polyester). The buttons are metallic and the fit is good.If you're looking for a kind of fantasy garb or aren't too worried about authenticity, these are a great option

You don't have to do cosplay to enjoy these pants. They are comfortable to wear and are breathable. The fabric is high quality. I liked them so much I got few in different colors

These pants fit nicely and are just the right length and size . . . for me, a 5'6" woman. The pockets are a bit small, but otherwise, I have no complaints. For the men these are intended for, I doubt it will work well.
