These work good. This is our second one for our camper. First one lasted two years. Installs easy and fits nice. Doesn't smell.

Update January 13, 2025I pulled this anode out to empty the hot water tank in my RV for winterization. After only six'ish months, this thing is done! Total junk. The anode that was in my RV for 8 years or so looked way better than this. I don't know if that means the old anode didn't do enough or this new anode is doing too much but based on some research, these anodes should last 3 seasons, at least!Original Review July 8, 2024Not much to add to what the other reviews have said. It fits and works as described. Time will tell if it works as well as the OEM part but for now, my hopes are high.

I needed to replace the rod for the water heater in my 5th wheel, and this was a perfect fit. It came with its own Teflon tape, and it was not hard to install. The length was just right. It did not take too long to install either. For us DIY-ers, just release the pressure, drain the water, then change the rod. But do it on solid ground like cement rather than dirt, there can still be water, and you don't want to stand in a mud hole.

They say You're supposed to replace your anode rod once a year. I've had my camper for a couple years and this is the first time I have replaced it. I don't know the part number and I just took a chance and it fit like it should. It comes with a roll of Teflon tape to stop the leak and the head is brass to avoid rust. This anod is a little thicker than the one that it's replacing but fits like a glove it is the same length as the one that came out which I am assuming is the one that came from the factory. At this price I can replace it every year for a piece of mind. Installation was as easy as unscrewing the old one and screwing in the new one after applying a little bit of Teflon tape to the threads. Easy peasy. It's quality made and worth the price.

This review is for the Ranein RV Magnesium Anode Rod - 1 Pack for Suburban and Mor-Flo Water Heaters.I checked my existing anode rod when I took my travel trailer out of storage this year. The existing one has one more season before I believe it'll need to be replaced. I'm putting this anode rod in my tool kit for the next time I drain my water heater. This rod is listed as compatible with my water heater. Make sure that you check to ensure compatibility. The brass head is firmly attached.

I ordered this anode rod to replace the one in my Suburban water heater in the RV. I had ordered a kit, and it came with an aluminum anode rod. I prefer to use magnesium, so I ordered this product. It was identical to the one I removed and fit easily into the threaded receptacle on my RV water heater. So far, I am very pleased with this product. I will update this review when I conduct the next maintenance cycle and see how it is holding up.

I bought this to replace the rod that I had for 2 years. This fixs good and hopefully it will last as long as the previous one did.

Updated review after the season: Anode failed in the worst way possible. Part of my winterization is the remove the anode and leave it out for the winter. When I went to remove this one, it had oxidized (corroded?) at the base causing bonding it to the socket in the heater. Instead of unscrewing the end cap just came off. Luckily I was able to drill and tap the anode allowing me to remove it. Pictures added to show the problem. I would not recommend buying this anode, the connection to the cap is not sufficient.Original review:I'm sure if you are looking at this you already understand the purpose is to prevent corrosion sacrificially. With that in mind, no instructions were included, but all you need to do is thread it in where you removed the previous anode.Quality looks very nice, fit perfectly in our water heater. I attached a side by side picture with my old one, it was definitely due to be replaced. One thing to note, at least for my installation, the old and the new anode didn't thread very deep into the water heater. Maybe three turns total? For reference, my heater is a Suburban SW-6 DE.
