It’s nice to be able to get just what I needed instead of having to buy a new compressor.

Car: 2014 Chevy Cruze LTPart Number: AEH271-CLI'm quite happy with this part, both due to the quality and because it fixed my problem. The problem: the AC suddenly quick working; one day it was fine, the next no cold at all.Diagnosis: I saw the AC clutch was not engaging when the AC was turned one. Checking the AC fuse and relay did not reveal broken parts. I unplugged the AC clutch solenoid cable and tested the resistance on that. It should be around 5 ohms, the old was as about 1.5MOhms - very broken. The Kit: The kit came 3 parts (AC clutch plate, AC pulley, and AC clutch solenoid) plus hardware to secure them with (center bolt, new washers, and two snap rings).NOTE: there are two versions of this kit, one uses refurbished parts and the other is made new. Check the manufacturer's website to make sure you get the part number that matches the kit you want.Install:Note: I chose not to remove the AC compressor to avoid having to get the refrigerant removed and recharged. To replace the AC solenoid I jacked the car up and removed the plastic belly covers to access the AC compressor. I removed the serpentine belt leaving the pulley free. I eventually removed the passenger front tire and plastic tire liner but I'd take it off at the start if I did this repair again. To remove the AC clutch, I undid the center bolt with an impact driver. The pulley is free-spinning, so you either have to stop it from turning or use an impact. Next I tediously pried the clutch off using a thin chisel and flat-blade screw drivers. If you have a small bearing puller that would probably work better. With the clutch removed, the AC pulley can be removed. A good pair of snap ring pliers made this task easy. The AC solenoid also is held in with a snap ring. This was tough to reach, even with the good pliers. I needed to removed the passenger tire and liner to get a useful sight angle. With the snap ring removed the solenoid came off easily.Installation of the new parts was easy. I reused the old solenoid's snap ring as the one that came with the kit was trickier to work with. The solenoid, pulley, and clutch went on without issue. The new clutch power cable was thicker than the original and did not fit into the old cable guide, so I zip-tied it.Final thoughts:I'm very pleased with the kit and would heartily recommend it to anyone looking to replace a dead AC solenoid. The actual install is cramped but manageable and well worth the cost saving of getting the compressor replaced.
