This unit is a major upgrade from the traditional alarm clock radio! It works as advertised, it sounds good, and it meets all of my needs perfectly! I tried and returned 2 other brands and 3 units total on Amazon before settling on this one. The fact that it also serves as a BT speaker is a great added feature. Great value!

We live where it's hard to get some stations due to terrain. My favorite station would drift in and out or not be there at all. I bought this with the hope it might be able to tune more precisely. WOW. It did it. The sound is great. You can also plug in a USB port item as well. There are so many great features. Setting it up was kind of difficult. But once I did it a few times I was ok. I love the large and easy tuning and alarm setting. It is very intuitive to use even in the dark. I like the dual alarms, one is a everyday alarm and the other is a once at a time, so you can set it for a different time each day if you need to. Remember to read the instructions carefully and take the time to do this on a table before struggling with it in the bedroom.

I,ve owned this for about 12 months. The digital display suddenly stopped working on half the numbers. Not much more than a large piece of plastic now…

I own numerous Sangean products and am very happy with them. These include the PR-D7 (my favorite portable radio), PR-D18, PR-D19, three DT-180 (yes, three), a refurbished by Sangean PR-D9W and now this refurbished by Sangean RCR-20 clock radio. The refurbished Sangean products I received through Amazon were indistinguishable from new and included the original box, packing, manual & accessories. The only way tell they were refurbished was from a "Refurbished" sticker on the box.I have not been satisfied with clock radio sound from the units I have owned for the last 40 years. Zero bass with weak, thin sound. I was interested in the RCR-20 but thought the price to be too high. When I discovered it as refurbished for $20 less than new on Amazon, I jumped on it.My wife says the RCR-20 is ugly. I am less hash referring to it as "not good looking". The display looks as though it would be at home in the 90's not in 2021. Functionally, the clock radio was easy for me to set up especially using the included remote which is a great feature. I really like having a remote even though the unit is on a night stand right next to the bed. The RCR-20 features clock setting via FM RDS-CT but I do not use it as the local radio station does not always provide the correct time. I do not care for the non-removable built in radio wire antenna. I would much prefer a screw mount F connector for the antenna allowing the use of a wire or aftermarket screw on telescoping antenna. The radio features an FM-RDS (RBDS) display for song artist and other information. I like this even though it is on a boxy, silly looking display. The RCR-20 has a USB 5V/ 1a output for charging a phone. By today's standards, this is under powered but fine to slowly charge your phone over night. The RCR-20 is Bluetooth equipped however it is typically poor and I do not use it. The Bluetooth is very weak requiring you to crank up the volume considerably. Should you forget to turn the volume down when switching back to radio, the volume will be blasting. I don't see why manufacturers of devices having Bluetooth as well as other internal sources such as a radio tuner or CD player cannot provide a pre amp for Bluetooth much like those needed for a Moving Magnet turntable cartridge. Those also include equalization for the audio. Many manufacturers just slap in a cheap Bluetooth chip (because they can) giving little consideration as to how well it integrates with the unit. They now can advertise a unit as having Bluetooth and charge more for it. Bluetooth audio from the Sangean is week, flat, and sounds well, digital. The Sangean RCR-20 does sound better than any clock radio I have previously owned. By "better" I do not necessarily mean "good". The bass is artificial and muddy. Mids and highs are slightly attenuated and often not clear. That being said, the RCR-20's audio reproduction can get loud easily filling a room. In general, I like Sangean products and the RCR-20 is no exception.

Order arrived on time, well packaged. Pretty simple set up if you've worked with this type of unit before. It might take you a little longer to set up but once it's done, it works quite easily and fits well on my night table by the bed. Presets work almost like a car radio, dimmer gives you a wide range of brightness, which is easy to change at night. I was pleasantly surprised that it sets it's own time via the FM signal and seems quite accurate. Not sure if I'll use the blue tooth or USB charger port yet. The sound quality is vibrant and crisp with the bass better than I expected for the size. Overall a good purchase for my needs. I bought the refurbished unit and saved a few extra $$$$s. UPDATE: The unit still sounds great but the NFC feature no longer works and several of the led lights on top have failed/ gone out. Might want to consider the extra few $$$$$ and buy new.

I was looking for a good quality stereo table radio. Most Sangean radios are of extremely high quality, but sadly most are only mono. I chose this model because it is also very well made here in the USA, fits my listening needs, and has all the features I could ever want in such an application. The sound quality is very good. It comes pre-selected to receive a clock update from the radio station currently playing, but that is a downfall as a lot of stations incorrectly send out this clock info rendering your alarm settings useless - but - this can be over-ridden by going through the adjustment settings to select Manual rather than the pre-selected RDS mode. Your clock will then ever be set to the actual correct time. Also, you can interface your devices using Bluetooth as well as charge them with the built-in USB port. I found this radio to be an excellent choice. The seek mode is fast and accurate. Setting pre-selects is a snap. I like the internal battery back-up in case of temporary power failure. There is an AUX in port as well as a mini RCA headphone jack. The LED display is large and fully adjustable for brightness. You can opt to have the radio station display the current program or music, date, or other info as you wish. I have nothing negative to say about this product other than the factory preset RDS function. You will not regret your purchase of this fine product. Enjoy!
