I use these to replace the original CFL bulbs in my kitchen. These are 1/2 the wattage and put out far less heat than the 4 tube original bulbs ... the only drawback is that you have to file one of the stops on these bulbs down a little to fit correctly. These also last about twice as long ... and cost half as much as the originals. Best of all they just work better, change them and forget them.

These are a direct replacement

These are nicely made, and although they don't have any safety certification, they look like they are made properly; although I am not an electrician, nor do I know anything about bulbs, so this is just based on LOOKS. (When I looked at the bulb that I am trying to replace, it too doesn't have any safety certification, and it came with a fixture that I bought at a reputable, big box store, so...)That being said, I am unable to try these bulbs to see if they work because they are not what was presented in the listing. The listing says these are 5.75" long, but they are actually 6". (see pic) Normally, this wouldn't matter except that the extra 0.25" is in the base part that you plug into the fixture. Very specifically, the very end of the base is extra long by the 0.25". (see pic) The one I am trying to replace is only about 1/16" at that part, and if you look at the 4th listing picture that shows that section, you can see that that part does not appear to be 0.25". The pins in that listing picture are a bit less than half of the base length. But if you look at my picture of the bulbs I received, that shows the 0.25" section, you can see that the pins are only about 1/3 of the distance of the base. I didn't try to plug it in yet. I will eventually, just to make sure, but I'm pretty sure no one would make a fixture where the very end of the base can be 1/16" OR 1/4" long. ERG. VERY disappointed!!!At $14, these would be very reasonable if they fit and worked!

We had to do a couple modifications to get these to work in our light fixtures. We had to cut the ends just a little to get them to fit. Once in they're great.

Each of these bulbs came individually packaged in little cardboard boxes which was nice. Nothing was damaged. As one reviewer mentioned, the base is a tad longer than what it appears to be in the photo, but this wasn't an issue for me. It perfectly fit in the light fixture.

Well, there honestly isn’t a lot to say about these fluorescent bulbs, except they work and they work very well. They appear to be made just as well as the two Sylvania 20683’s that I replaced in my bathroom, and they are at least equally bright. Now I can’t speak to their longevity just yet. But if for some reason one of them goes out prematurely, I will be sure to update you here. Otherwise, these seem to do their job as one would expect!NOTE: since there are only 2 reviews so far, I’d like to say a word about bb’s very different rating/experience. First, I measured all 4 of my bulbs and all of them were 5 7/8” exactly. So mine were also a little longer (1/8”) than what the specs state (5 3/4”). I should also mention that the 2 bulbs I replaced were a bit tight, but not too tight. In other words, mine did fit. So at the very least there might be QC issues involved. I’m keeping my 5-star rating, because I can only base it on my experience and observations. But if you buy these well-made bulbs, just be sure to make sure they fit before your 30-day grace period is up!
