I was a little hesitant to purchase this bookshelf because a lot of the reviews mentioned it being wobbly or even breaking easily. But it seems sturdy enough, I have roughly 200 lb of books I believe it said it had a 300 lb limit. I put shims under it towards the back because it had a little bit of wobble from my floors being uneven, but after having it leveled it felt sturdy.I'll update if it breaks, but it seems like I'll be replacing it before it breaks.Here's my one complaint, I wish it came with one extra shelf. It seems like there's a massive gap towards the top, I could easily fill that gap with a couple of smaller books if I had an extra shelf

You get what you pay for, I suppose, but I could have gotten a better set of shelves probably at this price point. Thankfully I'm not placing a high demand on these shelves so they're fine for me but if you expect good-looking shelves for a collection or something keep looking. These are the cheapest possible build quality and the backing is cardboard. The finish is thin and mismatched between panels on my set. Every component is super easy to damage during assembly so use extra care in putting it together. Both my cardboard backing pieces ripped just unfolding them, for example, and had to be mended. Since they're structural, they had to be fixed. The complete assembly happens on the floor with the show faces down, so get a sheet or cardboard to keep it from getting scratched all to pieces as you assemble. I would not buy these again. They look pretty bad even for the price and I'm not really happy with them. A return would be impossible now since they're assembled.

Very decent size! Material soft though, But can work. Some parts were damaged. But on assembly it didnt show and actually held up.

Good shelving bookcase. I've have different shelving systems over my life and this one's good like the rest. I can more likely own this thing forever as long as I don't break it myself. It works for what I intended. The backer part (if used) is flimsy'ish material (like most or if not all shelving systems out there), so whatever you put on the shelves should not be pushed too terribly hard towards the back, or whatever you put on the shelves shouldn't rely much on the backer part to "stay propped up". I accidentally pushed something back kind of hard once and the backer sorta stayed "popped out" in shape and wasn't "laying flat" anymore because of the weight was pushing on it. The backer material is held in place with little nails that you basically hammer into the main wood on the edges. (I simply pushed the backer back in place and all is good now). Not sure if they sell a replacement backer part or not. Hopefully will never need one.

I have been an owner of many particle board bookshelves in my day. I have to say, this one has been the worst experience of them all. The ONLY positive is that I got it when there was a sale, so I only paid $45 and some change. Even so, I have never experienced the particle board arriving in such a sad state. Plenty of blemishes to the edges of the main frame as well as what seems to be a painting error where there is a skid of white over it on the edge on the main middle frame shelving level.INTERIOR DESIGN WARNING: Unless I received the wrong part, the top of the shelf is not the finished paint, it is also particle board. If you are planning to put this on a lower level of your home and have stairs in anyway that is will be seen from above, people will see the tacky particle board sticking out instead of the black or white finish.The backboards of these things are always a pain, I love the idea of using material over them to make them look nicer. However, with my order I also got a printing error on my backboard where the black cuts off and there is an uneven area of white and grey print. If I would have known it was going to be this bad I would have waited on something else maybe from a more trusted brand I am aware of. So if you are not in a rush for a shelving unit I give you my advice to hold off. If you are patient and willing to make returns if you find error in your order, maybe you will be in luck at some point of not getting one that has so many impurities.

I found these bookcases at a whopping -50% off and wanted to buy 5 sets, alas amazon would only let me buy a maximum of 3. Why? I have no idea. They are easy to put together, but flimsy as heck. So, what I did was build them, stand them side by side against the wall and then added an extra screw near the top and near the bottom on each of the bookcases, basically fusing them together. Now they are sturdy and actually I'm chuffed with them. But if you just buy one, I think you'll be disappointed as it won't be sturdy enough to hold books. Also, be aware, I ended up getting three separate individual transaction charges for each of the bookcases, rather than 1 single total transaction charge on my credit card. No big deal, but if you have a free account with your bank and limited transactions, this seller, for some unearthly unimaginable reason, can't take one total amount. So you'll be dinged 2,3,4,5 etc times for each individual bookcase.
