the files are intended to 'lock' into the handle but they are to long to do so. As the hex end of the file, which goes into the handle is only plastic, I had to file them shorter to have them fit and be 'locked' into the handle.

This SE Diamond and CR15 Steel Needle File Set has been a great addition to my tool box. They are very well made and have been a great buy for the money. I would 100% recommend these to anyone.

Pros:1. Works OK on softer materials or small things.2. I used it a lot on brass and plastic miniatures and seemed OK.3. The bag to keep them together was appreciated.4. Time will tell how long they last.Cons:1. A few of the pointy files put holes in the carry case pretty fast.2. The grips on them are cheap feeling but serviceable after you file them a little.Overall:1. You get what you pay for sometimes, if you just need a cheap file set this will work, if you do a lot of file work, spend the money on higher quality grips.

Well, the files are OK, even if a few are not exactly straight- they’ll still serve in a pinch as a second string almost disposable way.Unfortunately, if at all I’ll be using the files with only the cheap ¼” potmetal ends to hang onto- they will not lock into the handle, and while modifying the stalk end might help, out of the box I’d have to call this set a no-fly.Comes in a nice roll-up case which you can then put in a drawer and never find again.

The sets of files I normally get have thin handles and come in a plastic sleeve. This set instead has files that act as standard driver bits, along with a handle that is more ergonomic than the thin type. The plastic bases, unlike the typical metal ones, worried me, but so far they have held up. These delicate files never get much pressure placed on them in use anyway. I use them primarily to clean up 3D prints. The variety of bit shapes is excellent and it is rare that I find myself wanting a shape I don't have. As with any inexpensive file, the metal is cheap and will snap if used for something more heavy duty. I have learned that the hard way. In those cases, and old school heavy file should be used.If you have some precision filing to do and are looking at low cost sets, I recommend this one. The handle design works well.

This set includes 1/2 steel and half diamond (powder) coated small files. They fit into the single file handle provided or can be held as is. I used them without the handle. They were good for lightweight finishing work on some rough milled aluminum parts. For the aluminum the steel files did the job well. They are pretty small so I find them hard to clean holding in one hand with a steel brush. My challenge was that I couldn't put them in my vise to hold them because the handle is covered with plastic bushing/rings designed to hold the files in the handle. Overall I'm not a fan on the plastic on the base because this makes them harder to hold and use. But the files are good.

Don't bother with this product. First off the factory packaging is that nasty clamshell stuff. Secondly I broke a file just trying to get it out of the nasty packaging. They are not much good for any use except maybe light craft work. Too fragile structurally for any other application. The plastic ends that fit into the handle get stuck and you can't get the file out. They are sharp on the points, so be careful with them. Total waste of resources.

I do some plastic & metal model building, and files of this type are indispensable in that hobby. These are pretty nice, are hard enough for soft material, clean easily, and don’t rattle around in the handle. The tool roll is a cheap little thing, but it’s easy enough to drill some holes in a piece of wood if you have room on your bench. A nice, fairly priced set of files.
