I tried for about 45 minutes to get this to work and it doesnt appear able to work with Windows 10. I installed the drivers from the website and got a message of successful installation. But no icon appears on the desktop, the Secugen software isnt shown in the list of programs, literally nothing.Tried calling customer support and it gives the option for sales or support, I click the option for support, the same message plays to choose sales or support, choose option 2 for support, and then it says sorry, cannot connect, goodbye. Definitely would not recommend this product to others who have Windows 10.

When I started with the Hamster, it said "having trouble recognizing fingerprint". That happened twice but the 3rd time, it said all set so I tried it 5 times and each time it opened the computer right away with no repeat tries. I had tried another brand and no matter how many times I tried it, I could not register my print. I was apprehensive because of some negative reviews; but, since I always check with the WEB site for the latest drivers anyway, they did not bother me. I do think there should be at least one piece of paper to give the name of the WEB site; but, for me, that is a small issue. With any of these devices, you have to be patient when scanning your first print because a success there will give you many more successes later. So far, I give this a 5-star recommendation.

It simply does not work. I bought this thinking it would help me, but it didn't For one thing, it is NOT plug-n-play. This means that you cannot just plug it into the USB and think that drivers are going to be downloaded and you're good to go. It did not come with ANY instructions what so ever and it did not have anything to load programs to my laptop. It is going back... please do not waste your time or money.

It works great all the time. I haven't had any fingerprint recognition issues in either Windows 7 or 10. It doesn't come with fingerprint management software (FMA) to input your fingerprints when working in Windows 7, but I believe Windows 10 accommodates that through the User Sign-On category. Have been using it now for over a month and just upgraded to Windows 10 without a hitch.

I bought this for a project that im developing now, i received the device and it working perfectly; Only downside, no driver o SDK included , so you have to register at manufacturers web site and ask for one

Works intermittently. Advertised as New but packaging was not original, came with zero documentation, actually nothing in the brown box but the unit and a computer printed white label on the outside of the box with the make, model and the word New.
