Made for the working musician, it features a rugged metal construction and a shockmounted capsule for low sensitivity to impact and handling noise. The capsule has a supercardioid polar pattern, which effectively rejects off-axis ambient noise and feedback, and a neodymium magnet with a hum-compensating coil, which reduces noise caused by electrical interference and ensures a reliable performance regardless of climate conditions.

I went through many mics that were already in my mic library. After doing a little research based on the Sennheiser e835 I came across the e945, and after watching many MANY mic shootouts I decided on this mic. Pop screen is definitely necessary in my case. The e945 sounds like a condenser that does not require phantom power, and because of its pattern does not pick up all the room noise that all my condensers did on my first few episodes before deciding to try this mic. If you like the e835 you will love the e945 because it has all the top end clarity of the 835 but with a bigger and rounder bottom end.Tip: Beware of fraudulent Sennheiser's out there. Do your homework.

Love this microphone. I am a new singer. Sometimes I cannot get power behind my head voice (working on that!). This captures and amplifies so well you would never know!

I'm a male vocalist. I bought this mic as an upgrade to my usual Shure Beta 58. But sadly, after I first used this mic in a live performance, I couldn't wait to get back to my old Shure. First, the weight. Compared to the Beta, this one is noticeably heavy, an important consideration when you have to hand hold a mic for an entire show. Second, this mic feeds back HORRIBLY compared with my Shure, and at this price point you would think just the opposite would be true (that's also why I bought the Shure with the on/off switch, incredibly useful when having a feedback attack). And third, I just sound BETTER on the Shure. It's a much more forgiving piece of hardware than the Sennheiser, taking nothing away from its well-known quality. I think the Sennheiser may be better for recording, as its technical characteristics are razor-sharp. But for my needs and my money, the Shure is a much better performance microphone.

I was looking for this particular mic and started on Ebay. I thought I'd save a few bucks and bought a slightly cheaper, new one. Big mistake. I did some research and found that it was counterfeit. I was able to return it for a refund. I came over to Amazon to find a reputable seller and bought one. Same price as the "real" ones go for on Ebay, so no need to go back there. I checked out this new one end to end and it's the real deal. So, be aware, there are a lot of counterfeit mics out there. Study up before buying one. They are easy to spot if you examine them closely and know what to look for.I bought this particular mic after comparing with Shure Beta 58A. They are both great mics in their price range. They have slightly different emphasis for tone/EQ and just wanted something along the lines of how the Sennheiser was described. I've used it for a while now and am very happy with it.

Great sound in general, but surprisingly loud 'pop' (plosives) issues. Not what I would expect from mic costing this much.
