The lower locking gear (teeth) wore off just before I could use it. It failed to lock properly due to the worn out locking gear. I end up using a wrench. The metal is of low quality as you can see on the picture.I definitely do not recommend this at all.

It doesn't really do anything as far as griping the fuel pipe you are trying to disconnect the fuel line from. It just slides back and doesn't move the rubber fuel line. You have to resort to trying to use your hand as a wedge to hold it in place. It's all but useless if you only have enough access foe the tool.

They would compress the hose clamp but would not lock. I worked on the lock jaw a little with a Dremel tool and this pair now locks.

I ordered these hose clamp pliers for working on cars/trucks. There’s always a time where a spring style hose clamp is just super difficult to get to with regular pliers due to other stuff in the way. These JMMRRR work just fine. It’s a bit difficult to take pictures buried in an engine bay to show their true value. I did take a few pictures on my workbench with a spare spring clamp to show how well they grip and compress one. They work just as well on one buried down deep in an engine bay. I love how they lock into a specific position to keep the clamp open. I can’t understate how helpful that function is where you’re all contorted trying to reach down to it and slide the clamp back on the hose.I did post quite a few pictures just to give a good idea of what you’re getting. All in all, I have no complaints. For the $18 current list price, these are a no brainer. Definitely recommend them.

These work, are flexible in placement, and the lock is very helpful. This tool design has been around for a long time and virtually all of them tend to break sooner or later. The JMRRR is typical. Still, nothing beats a pair of purpose-made locking piers when dealing with hose clamps, which for all their virtues can be the most aggravating bits of hardware on the planet. So I don't expect these to last forever, BUT, I'm also happy to have and use them.Don't push the pliers too hard, keep them lubed and they'll last a lot longer. Better to give the hose clamp a quick rap with a hammer and punch or screwdriver and then use the pliers if the clamp even hints at being stuck. The pliers are not a panacea. They won't open all clamps enough to move them. They won't necessarily lock onto some makes of clamp. Still, for where they DO work, especially in really constricted spaces, they are a godsend.

Almost 30 years of working on vehicles and I'd never used one of these. It always seemed kind of unnecessary to me.Last week I was working on my truck and had to remove a goofy little spring clamp. I haven't seen these used too often, but it was basically just a formed piece of wire/rod that left no flat surface to squeeze against to open it. Pliers were useless because the clamp would just flip sideways or twist without loosening. I grabbed these pliers, not expecting any better result since I was basically trying to manipulate a rounded object with a flat surface. The clamp still went a little cock-eyed, but opened enough to get it off and back on! I guess I never realized that hose clamp pliers like this stayed in position when squeezed, holding tension on the clamp, freeing up both hands to move the clamp where you need it to be or to do other things. I try to eliminate spring clamps on my vehicles every chance I get, but now I have the right tool for them - I'm sold! This can be an awkward item to stick in a toolbox drawer, with the cable flopping around. I realized that the clamping mechanism can be latched onto one of the jaws of the pliers to keep it in place. Still awkward in a drawer, but it keeps the cable from moving around!Great tool, I'm glad I finally have one. Way easier than trying to use pliers!
