A chain pin, or master link, is necessary to install the chain on your bike. I thought every shimano chain just came with them. fortunately, I had an extra one. Other than that, the chain runs quiet and smoothly though my gears.

Runs great, but only lasts me about 2000 miles or half a riding season. I weigh 138, so not exactly putting a ton of power into them.

What can I say? Its a Shimano chain that is high quality and a fair price. Shifts smoothly and takes a beating. Its all I run on my road bikes. Use the pin for a strong fit or put on a snap link for quick removal and cleaning.
