Having worked in a shoe department of a sporting goods store and being trained how to manually manipulate shoe fabrics to facilitate room for different shaped feet, I looked forward to using these. They have worked well so far helping me to break in a pair of bicycle cleats for my feet and pocket a hiking shoe making room for post hallux surgery. I strongly suggest that you 1) Place tape the outside of the outsider of shoe in the general area you need stretching. 2) mark the tape at the specific points of discomfort- rubbing… 3) Set the plastic bumps where you need them. Align in shoe double checking bumps against marks. One can micro adjust the position of the bumps by changing the heel length until aligned to your needs. Some notes to remember: 1) The shoe needs to be a close fit to your foot to start. If you bought a narrow shoe because of looks you may not be able to fully stretch it to a wide fit. 2) The process takes time- The instructions say 24 hours- I would say longer- use a slow progression to get the feel you need. - if you force it either the shoe or the tool may fail.

style 1 in yellow shows 2 stretchers in the ordering area. This is what I thought I ordered. The pink choice only showed 1 stretcher. I only received 1 yellow stretcher. You must order style 2 to get 2 of them. My mistake for not being more attentive.

I bought a brand new pair of boots that were just a tiny bit too tight—enough to be uncomfortable, but the next size up was already too big. I picked up this boot stretcher, and after a week of stretching, one boot fits perfectly. Now I’m working on the second one. If you want to save time, just buy a pair. But since I wasn’t in a rush, one worked just fine. Definitely worth it if you’re trying to break in snug boots without compromising on fit.

My feet measured between EE and EEE in width and this has made buying shoes much easier. It is so difficult for me to find wide shoes that would comfortably fit my feet out of the box. This helps me stretch out the shoes before I start wearing them.

Following some medical issues last fall, my feet have grown. I don’t understand it, but replacing every pair of winter, hiking, running, casual, etc shoes & boots that I own is not an expense I’m prepared for. A shoe cobbler suggested I find a multiway adjustable stretcher & some spray & cream for stretching.I used just a cream with this & searched online for shoe stretcher techniques & timing.Timing: everybody’s needs are different, but it seems a general consensus that you should start by placing it inside for 6 – 8 hours, then evaluate. If needed, put the stretcher back in and wait another 8 hours. It may take 1 – 2 days… For me 2 rounds of 8hrs each plus some stretching cream saved 2 pr of hiking boots, & 2 pair of western boots. Thats all I’ve gotten through so far as it takes a lot of time to hurry up & wait. This tool saved me a lot of money and I’ll be putting it to great use over the coming months.

This worked just fine. I had one shoe that that fit, but had one spot that scraped against my Achilles. Don’t forget to use heat for materials that aren’t leather. I left my shoe in a hot car. I’ve heard the freezer works but I never tried that.
