I've been in the market for new top loaders for a few of my comics that I don't want to slab, so I decided to try out the ProBear brand. If you're not familiar with top loaders, they are rigid plastic sleeves with an open top, allowing you to slide your books in while providing an extra layer of protection. The top loaders from Probear are impressive. The modern books I chose to upgrade fit perfectly inside—once in place, they didn’t slide or shift. They also look fantastic, and I read that these cases are UV-protective, making them safe for casual display as well.

These top loader ate the best ones out in the market! I bag and board my silver age comics in Silvet Age ComicProLine and they fit perfectly in the top loader with minimal wiggle room. The clarity and rigidity is superb. Just placed another order for 15 more 10x packs. These are my "go to" top loaders and they should be yours too.

These are hands down the best top loaders I’ve ever used! The fit my silver age and modern comics perfectly! Highly recommend

just recently found out about these bad boys. they really are a nice addition to protecting the comic book. i wouldn't buy for all of them, but the key issues or other big non graded books definitely deserve one of these. easy to use and so far are very protective

These will do the job. I have sen toploaders that were/are thicker than this, but I don't believe that is necessary. These will adequately protect your comics unless you are just being totally irresponsible with them, and that would be on you, not the protection.

As someone who did most of their comic collecting as a teen in the early 90's and left the books stored away bagged and boarded in a bunch of long boxes with little to no attention for many years, I was saddened to find many of them with creases in the front covers due to the board of the preceding comic digging into the comic behind it. Though a lot of the books from the 90s are junk now, there were certain key issues, like New Mutants #87 that pained me to see damaged by a long vertical crease next to the spine. I had separated a bunch of key issues into a separate short box and kept them perfectly aligned to prevent further damage, but I think a ghost keeps sneaking in and misaligning them, which has been driving me crazy. Enter these top loaders. I had no idea these even existed, as they were not a thing back in the 90s, nor was slabbing comics. Bagging and boarding was really the best we could do back in the dark ages. The bagged and boarded modern comics were super simple to drop into these, just being careful to not let the flap on the bag get caught. The only downside was that after putting the comics into the top loaders, they did not fit properly into any of my standard comic boxes, and the tops of the top loaders are open, so you are going to want to cover them to protect them from dust incursion. My short box was too narrow to drop these into at all, and the long boxes, though wide enough, aren't tall enough, making the lid rest on these, preventing the ability to stack or put anything on top of the boxes without risking bending the top loaders and comics inside (I stack my long boxes 3 high in an alternating vertical/horizontal pattern to prevent any buckling or crushing. I have over 30 long boxes so some form of stacking is a must for me.). So, I went ahead and searched and found and ordered a nice hard plastic BCW comic bin here on amazon that is absolutely perfect for these and other top loaders (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077PPFN35?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1).It is worth noting that after trying these, I went ahead and ordered some modern comic book top loaders from BCW and UltraPro to see how they hold up to the "name brand" competition. They are the closest match to the BCW, which is to be expected since it appears that this product seems to have "borrowed" all of their graphics from the BCW listing and swapped in their own logo instead. The UltraPro are slightly narrower than these, but still do not fit properly into any of my cardboard storage, so they are all in the same boat there. I would say that between these, the BCW, or the UltraPro, just go with whichever is the lowest price at the time and consider dropping them into the BCW plastic cases for any comics in that are too good for just bags and boards, but not yet graded and slabbed for whatever reason.

Five things I love, and one that I'm on the fence about.I have always used BCW Silver Age top holders for my comics, but the price, availability, and the shape they arrive in have always been a frustration. So, I have decided to try some other brands, either as the new go-to or as a backup. So, I decided to try the ProBear. It has a great rating here on Amazon. The price was better than the BCW and was also available as a Subscribe and Save option by Amazon. I have the BCW 20 pack set up as S&S option with Amazon, but it rarely ships because of stocking issues, and the price is higher than what I have set up the S&S with Amazon. I wish Amazon would send an e-mail asking if I would be willing to pay the higher price to get the item. The ProBear Top holders were available to ship. While the BCW is on backorder and currently will not be shipping for my next S&S.The ProBear Top Holders were packed very well in plastic wrap, so even if the shipping box had been damaged in transport, the holders had a good chance of not getting scratchedThe ProBears are just as thick, and the comic (with Bag and Board) does not slide around once seated in the top holder, but not so tight that you feel like you have to push with excessive force to place the comic in the top holder. Each of the holder has the same constant build to it. None of the holders were scratched, scuffed, or warped. The only thing I am on the fence about is that the ProBear top holder is darker than the BCW. It is noticeable with paper comics but not as much with foil and metal comics. At least on the couple I tried.I have left ProBear in my Subscribe and Safe items, along with the BCW and the Coniz brand which I have never tried before
