Outer material is a very strong and durable stretch fabric. This acts as a compression sock during activities and offers muscle support.The inside of the socks are lined in sections with merino wool. This is great, as it allows for the socks to stretch as much as is needed, without the merino wool moving off the areas that it's designed to keep warm. Merino wool is light, breathes well and is super warm.The toes and heels have additional padding which I appreciate, as it will prevent rubbing and blistering.Likely to purchase another few pairs, depending on how these wash and wear over the next few days.

He's a good socks. They are made with Merino wool so they say so they should be nice and warm and I have confidence that these will be better as they fit higher on the leg than other socks. Sometimes when you wash other socks they barely reach up above your ankles. That is not what I want in a winter sock. So these fit the bill as they rise higher on the leg the way they fit. One thing though. I think the two clips the metal clips that these come with could be a potential Hazard for small children if they were to try to ingest these in other words eat them. I think the seller should be aware that those clips could be a potential Hazard and eliminate them. Just a suggestion. The socks arrived quickly and they will be a welcome addition to my wardrobe.

Wore these on a hike recently. Very comfortable and warm. Couldn't really tell a whole lot of difference between these and my more expensive wool socks.

I absolutely LOVE these socks!!!They go all the way up to my knees, and they STAY up there all day.They are very comfortable and warm. Thick, but not too bulky.I will definitely be buying more of these socks!

I usually wear these year round with work boots in Louisiana. They don't get too hot and stay in place. They keep your feet warm in the winter as well. They've held up well with daily use and numerous washes. Sizing was spot on and I love them. Overall, I'd highly recommend them.

I love a good pair of warm knee high socks and this pair is better than good it is spectacular! I was a little skeptical that they might not fit correctly because non wide-calf socks tend to run pretty tight on me, but that is not the case at all here...they are a perfect fit! They are nice and thick and keep your feet and lower legs super toasty. The quality is spot-on...they are very well-made of a strong and soft cotton with an inner lining of merino wool. Although the description suggests you hand wash these socks, I've machine washed and dried mine and they didn't shrink. I'm not an outdoor winter sports person so I can't attest to how they'd hold up while skiing or snowboarding, but I can say that they will most definitely withstand the frigid negative temperatures during Chicago winters! The design of the socks are suitable for males or females and would match well with a variety of colors. I'm not sure how these are sized, but I'm a female and I wear a size 9.5 shoe and these socks fit perfectly on my feet and up my calf, aaaaannnnnnnnd they stretch all the way up to the knee, even a bit past the knee and they do not slide down at all unless you are removing them. It is noticeable that there is extra lining or cushion in certain areas of the socks, primarily in the heel, toe and base of the foot and up the front of the socks...those areas just feel different but in a really good/comfortable way. Overall, these are great socks and despite the fact that I'm not an outdoor woman I think these socks are going to be my new go-to during our cold Chicago winters! I'd definitely order again and again!
